Pokemon Recommendations

Hello!
I've been interested in trying out my first Pokemon game for a while now, but I need some help choosing which one I should pick up/download as I know next to nothing about the franchise.
So, I was wondering which Pokemon game would be the best option for a complete beginner.
If it matters, I'm more interested in the collecting and exploration aspects of Pokemon than battling.

Pok?mon X/Y. It's the easiest in the series and it's got a lot of nice options for your party/team. I also like FireRed and LeafGreen; they're remakes of the original RGBY (generation 1).

I personally love Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire because you get the up to date graphics as well as a big region to explore. Having the PSS system and the PokeNav helps with your journey. Plus it is a big region with lots of water and islands to explore. You can even dive underwater. It's really good in my opinion. The story is really cute too and they even give the team leaders and grunts personality which was huge for me and got me really into the story. You can also fly and catch Pokemon in different little secret areas that pop up daily.
