In little than a month away, Gen 7 will be released. So much content was released including Team Skull and the Aether Foundation. Now when I first saw this, Lusamine's goal is to create a sanctuary for Pok?mon.

Then this is where it goes south for me. Some theorists (in which I use lightly and both despise) claim that the Aether foundation are evil. This was speculated a week after Team Skull and Aether Foundation trailer.

Frankly I think these assumptions are 100% false as the game has not been released and the claims are being backed up by trailers. But what do you think, Are they truly evil or are people labeling them as such?

First, if you're basing your assumptions off the game being released or not, game theorists won't have anything to do. They theorize game stories/features based on trailers, so I'm very confused on why the sentence says "the claims are being backed up by trailers" because I can't tell if you're pro-theory or anti-theory. It is your assumption, but basing it off the actual game isn't an assumption, it's a fact. That takes all the mystery away from a game theory.

To answer your question, I think having the Aether Foundation be evil is a very interesting plot twist. I was talking to my friend about the possible theory. To simplify my theory, I will have Lusamine be L, Li be Lillie, Gladion will be G.

The theory is the Aether Foundation is evil, and Li and G are both L's children. In the beginning, everything was going well. Li and G are assistants of their mother, L, and everything is going fine. But the story of Ultra Beasts starts floating in the air, and L is determined to harness the energy of them. Of course, L doesn't know exactly what they are or what they do, so she needs to obtain a Pokemon that might know exactly what they are. L thinks and thinks, and she finds out; she needs to harness the energy of Arceus. Of course, capturing Arceus is impossible for her, so she tries to create it herself. On the way to the creation of the Pokemon, a lot of Pokemon were hurt or killed. The Foundation believes it's for the best for the world, but Li and G don't think so. Li hates seeing Pokemon get hurt, while G fights to show dominance toward other people, however he cares a lot for his own Pokemon. He only wants to see them get stronger so he can defeat the Ultra Beasts in the future. Because of this, Li and G run away from the Foundation and their mother. But they both suffer from different morals and ideals, so they split off on their own. Li goes to the Pokemon Research, working for Professor Kakui. She learns a lot about Pokemon, so maybe one day she can prove her mother wrong; there is no need for brute strength or death to understand Ultra Beasts. G goes to Team Skull, where he hides until he can prove his dominance and connection with his Pokemon, that you don't need to kill Pokemon and forge a new one to defeat Ultra Beasts. G even takes one of the forgotten Pokemon, one of the failed experiments with him: Type: Null.

Of course, my theory has a lot of holes in it. It isn't backed up by solid proof, but neither is any other Pokemon Theory out there about Sun and Moon. But it would be interesting to see how it plays out.

Nice theory! It would be a very intricite plot twist if the Aether Foundation turned out to be evil in the game. But I think it is pretty obvious that the Aether Foundation have something to do with Type: Null and Silvally.

So where does that leave Team Skull?

The only reason why I viewed the Aether Foundation as good was because at first glance lusamine says she wants to make a safe haven for Pok?mon, and I thought "Right on, I can get behind that." But seeing this now, it makes me rethink in buying the game.

I've already had this experience with Fallout 4 and I don't want to be disillusioned all over again.

Disillusions are good; they prove games aren't as straightforward as they seem. Team Skull would be like Team Magma/Aqua, but they're "evil." If you think about it, Team Magma/Aqua only wanted to help their side thrive, but they were too blind to see the consequences that it brings. They then realize their mistake when the world is about to be destroyed. Team Skull's ulterior motive is they want to steal Pokemon, but I feel like at the end they realize what they're really fighting for, and they band together to defeat the Aether Foundation. It seems weird to have two admins in the Aether Foundation, but they're "good?" It seems like all the bad guys have admins, so that leads to the second key fact, maybe the Aether Foundation is bad?

See even if i do beat the game, i still won't view Team Skull as a "changed people feel." It really gets to me that a supposedly good organization turns out to be evil and they don't change, where's the evil organization are evil and THEY DO change, it just doesn't feel right to me.

My theory isn't fact, so I wouldn't base how you feel about the game on a theory. I understand how it'll change your perspective on the game, so I don't blame you. Some people just want people to stay either good or bad permanently. But I'm not sure which way Game Freak would want to lead the game, so at the end of the game I'm just speculating.
