Pokémon Pokemon SW/SH save data question

Hi, so I have a question: First, I have Pokemon Sword and a Pokemon Sword save data on my Switch. If I were to buy Shield, would that count as another save data, not affecting my Sword data?

Shield would be its own separate data since it is technically a different game. My sister bought Shield and I played it briefly. Did not carry over my Pokemon Sword data.
