What makes you the happiest in New Horizons?

Even though NL is still my fave, I really enjoy fashion even though I don't create the QR designs. I like finding dress designs and matching them with shoes, accessories, etc.. I also love finding new "area" ideas to implement on my island so town design for me.

My favorites (for NH) are:
- Interior Design
- Landscaping
- Fashion
- Gardening & Farming

Villagers come in at a very close 5th. I love them, they are so cute and fun!

You can only pick 4!

I've designed my island to the point where I'm super happy with it.
So now I'm all about fishing, bug hunting, talking to my villagers, restocking on all the materials I lost moving villagers in via amiibo, and making as much money as I can since I spend it so easily donating to my other island that I reset too often lol

Mine is the same except trading instead of gardening, only because I finished getting the hybrids I wanted:

- Fashion
- Interior Design
- Landscaping & Town Design
- Trading

I like making patterns in game. :)

since I recently reset (or actually not so recently, i've just been hardcore slacking with actually playing ac over the last month or so) most of my time is spent landscaping and generally designing my island, which i absolutely love doing! second to that i love fishing/bug hunting - a classic part of the game, plus i'm missing out on a bunch of new species. also voted for fashion since i love putting outfits together and wishing i had some of the same pieces irl, and nook miles achievements because it's just so satisfying seeing them get ticked off!

My favorite things are interior designing and talking with my villagers. I also like designing the exterior of my island, but I don’t do it as often as I’d like.

I picked fossil/art/collecting, landscape & town design and the crafting options. There's other things I enjoy too like fashion but I picked my top 3.

It's hard to only pick four but I managed to whittle it down to:

Interior design
Exterior design
Fashion
Villagers

Decorating is really fun to me and that's the most I've spent my time; first exterior then interior. I enjoy creating all my custom designs myself but I'm not opposed to wearing other creator's clothing designs. Also I like wearing funny-dumb outfits from time to time.

Villagers are a good source of entertainment for me. And all four are fun to take many screenshots of.

Interior Design, Landscaping, Fashion, and Trading.

I could spend hours playing around with different outfits, and well who knows how many days I have spent doing interior/exterior decorating! And lastly, idk, having a good trade on TBT just makes me feel nice

I love collecting!
Can't wait to finish my catalog.
Also the satisfaction of getting the achievement badge is great!

Creature Hunting - obviously not the most profitable, but I still find it relaxing and fun to hunt for stuff
Interior Design - Harveys is great for this,
Fashion - My storage is overflowing because I get variants of all the outfits I like!
Trading - Facilitates designing, and interacting with others is fun! I doubt I'll ever 100% complete my catalog but having a big chunk is great.

Its funny seeing people say interior design because I don't care about it one bit this game.

Now that we can make the island how we want it, how my house looks is tertiary at best
I dont want it ugly or anything but yeah. Super low down on my priorities.

Maybe this is why others care more about items than me.

I love decorating outside but inside matters little to none

my favourite activities (and the ones that i do the most) have to be meeting new villagers and earning their photo/unlocking their poster, working towards completing my catalog and every nook mile achievement, trading and island hopping!

i like the majority of the other activities you listed as well, but those 4 are the ones i enjoy doing the most and that make me the happiest. : )

I enjoy a lot of these things, but I managed to narrow it down to:

Interior Design - I mean, I love Happy Home Designer, so this one was kind of a given ahaha. But I really enjoy doing interior design in general, and playing around on Harv's Island can be a lot of fun. I always feel like I need more furniture and more options, but I've still made some stuff I'm fairly happy with.
Landscaping & Town Design - I'm... not sure how good at this I am, but I do still enjoy it. I don't do landscaping and stuff often, but I'd like to start doing it more.
Fashion - I love how the closet works in New Horizons and I'm constantly buying any clothes I like from the Able Sisters, often in all the available colors, just to have the options. I really enjoy the dress-up aspect and I've already downloaded a few custom outfits too.
Villagers - Probably the best part for me! There's so many villagers I like and I can get pretty attached to them, and I really like chatting with them, writing them letters, giving them gifts, etc. Trying to figure out my dream villager lineups and then attaining them is a big part of the game for me, but the villagers I don't plan on keeping forever can be a lot of fun to have around too.

The four I picked are...

Fish/bug hunting: although this one doesn't really happen anymore since I've got all of them now.
Fossil/art collecting: I've got all the fossils but I do like trying to get all the art. I don't really time travel for it either so it's a struggle.
Fashion: I like to make clothes, especially Pokemon designs. I also love all the options in the game, I change my clothes a LOT.
VIllagers: if you didn't pick this why are you even playing the game 😂 nah, kidding, but I do feel like the villagers are the main point of the game.

I love designing my island, but my absolute favorite part of the game is the villagers. They are absolutely the thing that most keep me coming back to the game, and that set it apart from other games.

I knew interior design was important to a lot of people, but I am still surprised by how many people chose it. Makes me feel a bit bad, as I rarely visit interiors when I go to dream islands. I am probably missing out on seeing a lot of the hard work people have put into their islands.

I don’t spend much time on interior design cause i just don’t use my house much, outside the main room. It is fun, once in while, but there’s not much benefit for me in the game. When I decorate my island, if feel more purposeful, because I am always running around my island for various reasons, or just to enjoy the view. I do always intend to fix up/ change my house, but it just tends to fall to the bottom of my list.

The villagers bothering you while you decorate outside also makes it feel more immersive, even if it can be a little frustrating.

lately I am also getting more into trying to make custom designs. It is totally separate from the actual game, but it is engrossing and fun learning how to make things look how I want and seeing the results of my efforts.

Exactly!
There are only 3 times I go inside my house
1) to access storage
2) to go the the bedroom to visit dreams
3) to place a villager photo I just got on my walls

And I don't bother going inside people's houses when dreaming either. I'm sure they look lovely but it's all about the island to me

Right now it’s all about landscaping for me as I’ve only had my island since January. The overall landscaping (aka terraforming rivers and cliffs) is officially done so now I’m concentrating on smaller areas such as planting trees, creating a rock garden and preparing areas for Halloween and Christmas.

The villagers have always been my favourite part about AC, followed by interior decorating. I don't mind landscaping, but it's not my favourite activity (perhaps due to how poor the controls are in comparison to other landscaping/building style games). Plus, in my house I can customize it further - do I want to live in a castle? Can do. Volcano? Also an option! Permanent autumn forest? Go ahead. Perhaps different terrains in future games may change my mind (custom designs don't cut it for me).
I also love Mystery Islands, but again, I wish we could get a QoL update where we can just choose to go to another island instead of having text dumps to immediately return.
