Earlier, I decided to make June and Pekoe roommates, so after doing some renovations to the vacation home to, I decided to take a new photo for the portfolio as well. My initial plan was to have a picture of them both sitting at the living room table, but each time I posed one to sit on the cushion, the other would get up and leave. In the end, I had to settle for a shot where they happened to be passing by rather than actually doing something together.

Any suggestions on how one might get the two to cooperate long enough to take a photo?

What I've found out about this after trial and error is that I just have to keep picking up and placing the villager over and over until they spawn without holding anything. If they're holding a drink or donut or something they'll jump right up after I place them. When they spawn without holding an item they usually sat longer in my experience. Of course this isn't foolproof but it has helped me. Good luck and happy designing. ☺️

Well, the problem for me isn't that I don't have enough time to take the photo, but that the game seems to be forbidding me from doing it in the first place. As in, I'm pretty sure exiting out of designer mode is what prompts them to get up in the first place, because that's the only time they do end up getting up. My only guesses right now are that either they're programmed to not take seats that are relatively close together, or that only one of them can be actively using a household object at a time.

I did get Tangy and Purrl sitting at their kotatsu table side by side long enough for a picture together so it is possible. They were sitting in a pair of floor seats. One had a food item on the table in front of her so she got out eating utensils while the other just sat patiently in the chair next to her. It's just luck I assume.

What I take away from this is that the game just hates me.

Depending on your camera angle, you can block them in by something small like slippers or some kind of miscellaneous item.

Most the time I keep picking them up and dropping them until I get the shot. It's understandably frustrating, lol.
