I've seen some threads relating to this (being able/unable to kick out their tenth villager) but I've never gotten a concise answer as to whether or not it's possible. I've been trying to kick out Carmen (my tenth that I actually "bought" from someone) with the TT method for months and no bubbles whatsoever from her. But I know it's possible...I just want to know if anyone knows how long it typically takes to get them out? Has anyone here kicked out their tenth? And if so, how long did it take?

Excuse my ignorance but how exactly would an Amiibo card get rid of my tenth villager? Like, what's the process?
You can invite the Amiibo to your campsite and that will allow you to choose which villager you kick out. This will work assuming the Amiibo card is of a villager you want living on your island.

I saw the thread title of this on the main forum page and I had to do a double take cause it looked like 'possibility of kicking out your teeth.'

Anyway without amiibo cards, it's a lot more difficult to kick out a villager. People will tell you to be rude or ignore them, but that does the opposite. The villagers you befriend and max out friendship will be the ones that want to move out. So it's either do that the long way or scan an amiibo card in and kick them out the easy way.

Welp, guess it's the Ione Amiibo card for me. So once I invite them to the campsite I'll be able to choose the villager (Carmen) to kick out or will it be random?

You get to choose the villager you kick out if you’re using an Amiibo, so yes.

You'll need to do it three times though. They'll be invited to the campsite but won't agree to move in until the third day of asking. And you need to craft them something of their choice each time for it to work.

This is concise: The 10th villager will never ask to move out until they are not the 10th villager. (i.e someone moves in after them)

Question about the amibo method, first Thing is I'm playing in german so is the "campsite" the tent in the town area or the New area that got added with amiibo? Yk, the one where the Campers are? Where you buy stuff with Meow Tickets? And second, does it have to be the exact amiibo of the villager I want to kick? My 10th is Monique and I was already wondering why she doesn't wanna Leave.. Its been 3 years..

Yes, it’s the campsite. You need the Amiibo of the villager you want. For example, let’s say I want to kick out Goose. I want to replace him with Bones. I use a Bones Amiibo card and invite Bones to the campsite three different times. On the third day, you’ll get asked by Bones if you want Bones to move in. If you have ten villagers it’ll prompt you to kick one. This is where I select Goose and move him out. Bones will only ask to move in if you invite him three different times.

I see, thank you very much for that! I got one final question, when the villager moves out, does the new one move in in the exact same spot or can I prevent them from moving in the same spot before that (e.g. with designs)? Like, what's the timespan of the exchange?

FYI, your posts make it sound like you’re talking about New Leaf for the 3DS rather than New Horizons. You might get more specific and accurate answers if you posted this in the New Leaf board! The answers are very different for each game.

In New Leaf, a new villager has the chance to move in anywhere there is room, and you can use designs to block off the old spot. In New Horizons they take the place of the old villager, but homes can be moved for a fee.

I am indeed talking about the 3DS game, I sadly don't have Horizons. But thanks, this answers my question. I really need to change the position of the 10th villager. I have patched everything with designs and trees so they have only one spot to go to. :D
