Possible soft lock?

So my daughter was on the bug quest she said she had turned in 5 different creatures yet she claims she was given flowers it’s her account and world so I figured she would get the museum tent, she tries to show him new creatures when she gets them but it doesn’t show anymore, I’m thinking she possibly went on vacation and dropped it or something along the lines of that, could that be possible? Before anyone asks we have been searching the island top to bottom and we can’t find the tent

So I'm not 100% certain about your situation, but I think what you might be saying is that your daughter handed in 5 creatures to Tom Nook, expecting to then have Blathers and his tent arrive? If I'm remembering correctly, after giving Tom Nook the five creatures, Blathers will not arrive until the next day. The same happens with any new buildings or upgrades. Does that answer your question at all?

Yeah, I looked up tutorials and they say on the 5th creature you get the tent therefore you can place it down and have him come, but my daughter has claimed that she has never gotten a tent from Tom only flower seeds or something. I’m not sure because she is bad at remembering things so I was wondering if it’s possible to lose the tent and then soft lock the game

I haven't encountered this issue, so I wonder if you have talked to Tom Nook again, and seen if there is a museum prompt?

Unfortunately no I’ll ask him what to do and he just says that I should pay off my house, I can build a shop though which is what I have been working on but I keep breaking shovels

I could be wrong, but I was fairly certain you couldn't drop the building kit. I think it has to be either in your inventory or already placed on the ground? This is what I thought anyway.

Hm okay, so then I’m curious is the museum quest a seasonal thing then? I keep looking up tutorials and I’m doing everything they say, this is the 2nd time I’ve reset my world because of this so I’m not sure what else to do

It isn't seasonal, you can get it at any point.
Try handing him another critter, maybe a fish.

I’m not sure how I’ll get a new creature when it says “Yes!” Then I go to talk to him and no prompt and I show it off but he still doesn’t say anything

Are you playing as the first person to land on the island? If you're not, you can't progress the storyline. If your daughter was the person who named the island, you need to talk to Tom on her character player. For whatever stupid reason, no one else is allowed to further the storyline with him and Isabelle.

They have to be 5 completely different creatures... Like, you can't just give him 5 moths ... Also, fish count too ... Were they 5 totally different things?
