Posting to be a top poster

Maybe I'm insane here, but have you ever just kept posting on things, just to become one of the top posters for the day? I don't mean spamming, or even the basement, but looking through everything you type and making actual comments and posts that mean something- while also just wanting that little post number to be higher.

Because I do that.

Now, yes, I might just like big numbers beside my name, but it makes me feel better about myself! I'm being an active member in a community! I'm calling myself out, darn it, I need to be shamed for my love of double digits.

Nah, I don't have that in me anymore. Back in my teens I would have. I posted a lot then. Hence how I got 10,000 posts in less than a year on one forum I was a part of back then (and I remember getting nearly 1000 in one day lol). But now I'm a grouchy ol' 30 year old. You're lucky if you get one post out of me a day. lol (well, and I'm not sure I would say 'lucky', but you know what I mean)

Nah, I used to try for the top spot but I don’t really pay attention to my post count anymore. Nowadays I just post on new threads with topics that interest me and on old threads of mine that I want to update.

Yeah, I do that to an extent. Although actually, what I pay attention to most is whether or not I've already posted in a thread, I always find it satisfying to see I've posted in every thread on a page.

It's definitely cool to see your name down there but there usually aren't enough active threads to do with topics I have anything to say about so I'd rarely make more than a handful of posts on any given day

Actually I don't like being on the top, because I feel like I'm being annoying or spamming the forum, when in reality I get on maybe once a day for a bit, and get some replies on posts done.

I usually stop if I've done too many posts.
