Hi!

I've seen people post videos on here, of their island, or moments. But whenever I post a video its gotta be less then 5 seconds? But I've seen some videos go on longer?

Does anyone know how to post videos that are more then 5 seconds?

i think they might have a capture card or something that they do it on....

the longer videos that ive seen have all come from youtube, so i assumed they uploaded their videos to youtube and then posted them onto here.

Oh man, from YouTube? All I wanna do is post one video, lol. But I guess if that's the only way.

This is a capture card that people use to record the games they play. So I think like @xxcodexx said, the people are ether using a capture card or using YouTube for it
Hope that helps clear some confusion

ok sooo what happens after you use the capture card though? dont you still need a service to upload the video onto in order to post it? or does capture card have its own video service? ive never used either youtube or any other video system so im curious about this as well.

I had to go through so many steps just to record footage to upload for NL on the 3DS. I never tried it on the Switch, but I am sure it's just as complicated. Capture cards are also expensive. I remember looking at them when I wanted to record footage of my 3DS plays and they ranged from low 100s to higher. I didn't want to record that bad lol.

Oh wow, if its this complex to post a single video here, might not be worth it. I have it recorded, and all that

I think there is a 5-second limit to videos taken from your own Switch [I'm not entirely au fait with the website's stance on videos]. YouTube videos are simply links. Do not buy a capture card !! They're for something else entirely !!

Yeah there is, but I've seen them longer then that in here, like entire tour videos

I make movies, but I wanted to send a short 30 second video to people who complete my puzzle island

Yeah, the long videos that you saw are probably links to YouTube videos ... They play here because they're embedded, like when you post a video link in Facebook ... You can watch it, but it's an outside source that [I presume] the site's bandwith can't handle ...

BASICALLY !! If you want to send someone a 30-second video clip, it's best done from an outside source, like via e-mail or WhatsApp ... Again, DON'T buy a capture card unless you plan on becoming a professional streamer !!
