This past Sunday, Gamestop (in the United States) suddenly had pre-owned copies of New Horizons on sale for 9.99. Most people assumed this to be an error and thought their orders would be cancelled, but it looks like Gamestop actually fulfilled some of the orders according to replies on the tweet. The deal is no longer available, and Gamestop no longer has pre-owned copies of the game listed at all.

Has anyone heard about this? I'm assuming it was an error, but they did fulfill at least some of the orders and I haven't heard a definite explanation.

A lot of people are going to be jumping on board the New Horizon express because of the new update and DLC, I'm not suprised they were giving out deals. I haven't heard of this until you mentioned it.

How much does it cost in Japan compared to the US? It’s 50 bucks here, which is kinda expensive for a game.

It was an error, but Gamestop is honoring the discounted price and sending out 1 *new* copy to everyone who managed to order before it got taken down. What a deal!

"Honoring that price for one of the units ordered"

Ha, so if some scalpers tried to buy like 20 units, they would have only gotten one for $9.99 and would have been charged $1,140 for the other 19 they tried to buy (I don't think Gamestop gave them 20 units since it turned out to be an error) We all know scalpers would have pounced on this but it would have blown back in their faces I'm sure.
