Have you ever gotten a used copy of an Animal Crossing game and decided to explore the pre-owned town? Did you find anything interesting?

A few years ago I picked up a pre-owned copy of WW. I forgot the name of the town but it had a good amount of progress on it, all four character slots had been used and the house was pretty far expanded with a lot of things in it, and they also had Nooks Emporium.
However it was clear that it hadn't been touched for a long time, as there were weeds everywhere. Running around the abandoned town accompanied with the 2AM music that the game was set to for whatever reason made for a really depressing atmosphere. I deleted it shortly after.

I haven't but I love the idea of getting one and taking over an old town. Have seen lots of posts on this forum about people who adopt these towns and the villagers and make it work. Find it very sweet. I should have done that really rather than buy a brand new copy. Will see after the update comes how much money I have spare and maybe get one

Aw thats so sad. I've never bought a game off of someone else because it could be dodgy so I usually buy completely new ones.

I've never played a pre-owned copy of ACNL but I feel like it would be so cool to go through someone else's town through the perspective of the mayor.

I got a used copy of NL recently and was wondering if it would still have the old town on it. Unfortunately not! I think it would have been interesting, though I probably would have deleted it shortly after...

I bought a pre-owned ACNL. I usually look around to see what it was like. So, my initial launch I was looking around and went into the house and thought "huh this looks a lot liek a house my friend would build."

Lo and behold, it did belong to one of my good friends. XD

When I got my first AC game, which was WW, it already hade a save/town. It was weird because even though I got it from Gamestop, I thought I got a new game (as in not pre-owned). I certainly paid for a new game.

Anyway, since it was my first AC game, I never wondered about the other person sleeping in the attic. Later, I decided to recreate the town, though.
