First, is this the right forum? I didn't find any "troubleshooting" related subsections.

Utilizing a Wi-Fi network at home I can safely travel to any village and stay there for as long as I like. Inviting guests over in my town isn't a problem either. My 3DS connects to the internet without any problems.

But when utilizing the Nintendo USB on my laptop, to turn the LAN-network into an accessible Wi-Fi spot for my 3DS, I'm all of a sudden receiving problems. I installed the software yesterday and was able to visit, and receive visitors, without any sorts of trouble. But today it's been failing over and over again. I'm able to connect with a town and walk and talk around, but within 5 minutes I get the resetti error image. I'm sitting next to my laptop so it's definitely within reach, but something keeps kicking me out.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this or how it could be solved?
Or is anyone else here using a Nintedo USB to connect with other AC:NL towns?

Thanks in advance~

I don't use it for NL but I do use it for WW and I have days when it wont let me connect even though it was fine the day before. Sometimes just a restart of the comp helps, other times I have to uninstall and reinstall the dongle and software =/

Could a firewall be blocking it? It doesn't give any warnings though

Mine popped up to ask if I wanted to block or allow it, I also disabled my antivirus while I installed and used it in case it was that - made no difference.

I would say maybe the official ones are just temperamental, but I have a spare that isn't a Nintendo one and it does the same! One day fine, the next it's being a pest.
