Greetings from the island of prosperity - a land full of games, puzzles, and treasure!
After working my way through the game; saving bells, paying off loans, getting K.K. Slider to visit my island - I needed something to focus on. Most people decorate their island and home, but I decided to make a maze and let some friends compete for some bells. My friends told me how awesome it was, and how much fun they had. I was instantly hooked! I was determined to make more games for them to play. I looked up some ideas and determined that an obstacle course was the best choice for the next game to create. I hosted a few public games and next thing I knew I had musical chairs and a relay race set up and ready to play.
Now I host weekly games with both friends and random players! I am always brainstorming for new ideas for games. ACNH doesn't leave a lot of room for interaction or control when it comes to having visitors on your island, so it definitely can be a challenge to come up with fun, original mini-games to play.
This log of island activities will consist of a general record of games that are played, along with building new games, modifying my island and anything else that comes up in all of those activities. I will attempt to update this weekly, but may end up doing it more often or less depending on how much free time I find myself having. I've read through a few other journals here, and wanted to start my own. I hope people don't mind me taking ideas from their journals - there's a lot of good ones out there.

Games Tally:
I have been keeping a tally of the games that I've played so far for myself, but I figure this is the best place to share this information. Each week that I host a game, a lot of people sign up, so I do sessions - each with different people. "# of days played" is a tally of how many time's I've hosted a specific game. "# of games played" is a tally of the actual number of sessions that I've hosted across all the days. "Date last played" is the day I last hosted it.

Island Staff

Lots of awesome staff members on prosperity. They don't often help with much, other than greeting players with smiles and stories. They do sometimes get in the way when games are being played. Often they sit or stand where they're not supposed to. That's alright though, they try their best. If you see one when you visit, be sure to say, "Hello!"

Cheri is fairly new to Prosperity. She loves hanging out around the Able Sisters' Shop and checking out all the new styles. Her house is very cute but she loves visiting others.

Ike was the first bear on Prosperity. He loves the outdoors - any and all things related to exploring and nature. He enjoys creating new things and talking with all the other villagers.

Log Update 6/15/2020

This weekend was a success! After debating which game I would host, I ultimately ended up deciding to go with The Maze on Saturday evening.

I post an open invitation on both my discord and a Facebook group that I choose based on how much free time I have that day (I choose a large group if I have a lot of time, because they'll be more people that sign up). No matter how many people sign up, The Maze Game takes longer to reset between rounds (each group of players), so I dont often have the time to host it. However, on Saturday, I had the entire night off. So I posted on the second largest Facebook group that I'm in, hoping to be able to share my Discord with as many people as I could. My goal is to only need to post on Discord when looking for players.

I chose to host The Maze this time because the last several times I had posted in that group were to play either Musical Chairs or an Obstacle Course.

We played a total of 12 games/rounds. The Maze was built to work best with 3 players but there were two games of four because of friends wanting to play together. All of the games worked out just fine, and everyone had a blast. I started the games later than I normally would so they went well into the night with the last games ending around 1 am.

Had a lot of fun this weekend! I decided to just play a simple game of The Obstacle Course.

There were enough people in discord to play 3 games, then I followed up with 6 more games with players from Facebook. There were a few connection problems the second game; but smooth sailing after that. The course is always set up for 4 players, but can be played with 3 if needed.
It seemed like everyone kept falling into the pitfall seeds! So many people losing ranks because of it!
Everyone said they had a blast.
