Q? Villager Out & New Villager In

It's my first time doing this, so I wanted to make sure.

Have a villager moving out. He'll be in boxes tomorrow. My question... I want to get a new villager. Can I ask someone to move into Pietro's house while he's still in boxes? Or does it have to be the day after... when the house is empty? I know I have to move fast before a random villager moves in. Just curious when I should invite someone new.

No it doesn't work like that. The villager MUST move out the next day and the plot has to be EMPTY in order for the the villager that you want on someone's island to move into. Also you have to make sure the plot says "Plot available" and not saying "Sold" if it does that then you have no chance of getting the villager you want. So really do becareful when time traveling and if you time travel backwards while the plot is still empty it will cause it to auto fill. Just to give you a warning.
