Question about art

I'm probably completely missing a rule here, but is it permitted to request art of a character from a book or tv show? Of course so long as the artist is fine to draw them etc.

I'm sure it'd be fine, as long as the artist didn't say that they won't draw characters from TV shows/books/whatever.

There's no rule or anything against this. Fan art is a pretty popular thing and I don't see much of a difference between what you're describing and requesting Animal Crossing villager art, which is probably a daily thing here. I doubt you'd run into an artist who was opposed to doing fan art for any reason other than the character being too complicated to draw, so I'd say you're good!

Considering we don't have any book illustrators who sell their original art on TBT (at least to my knowledge) and I'm not sure how one would request original art from a TV show via this site, I'm pretty sure they were asking whether or not they could request fan art from the TBT art community.

Either way, they can verify whether or not their question was answered when they get back online and check the thread.
