I need help. I did my first auction of one of my villagers and I need clarification. I stated in my post that it would end at 4 pm today. The last two bids, one at 3:59 and one right on 4:00, so I took the 4:00 to be the winner. But the person that posted a bid at 3:59, is questioning it. Here is my post to her questioning my declaration of the winner:

"Princess I see what you are saying. To be honest this is my first time doing an auction for one of my villagers, so if what your saying is a set and standard rule in regards to auctions, then I want to abide by that. I am all about being fair and above board. I honestly do not know. Is this a set and standard rule that is followed?"

what is the proper thing to do? I want to be fair and above board on this. If I was the one to place a bid at 3:59 and someone else di done at 4:00, I would assume I lost, but so many times all things are a matter of perspective.

Thanks for your clarification on this.

There are policies for scenarios like this on other sites, but if I remember correctly, we don't have a policy that states that you must go with one bid or the other.

I have been searching the forum to see if there if I could find anything and I could not. Thank you for answering my question,.

This is kind of hard since milliseconds do count in stuff like this @-@

I think if you say it ends at 4, but want to count the one that was at the same time as the end, it's really up to the person who did the auction unless it was specified that the last bid counts at 3:59.

If the auction ends at 4:00:00pm then the winner would have to be the on who bid at 3:59:XX. Not after 4:00:00. My two cents or whatever they say.

Thank you for answering, this was stressing me out, lol...I did not want to do someone wrong on this. But from here on out, I will be very specific. Again, it is all a matter of perspective I think.

If it ends at 4:00, should end at 4:00 so no bids are allowed at or after 4:00. The 3:59 bid should win.

I agree unless the person posted on the dot the 4:00pm person should win, however that's highly unlikely and I dint think you can give the benefit if the doubt with that one
