Question about gifs as avatars?

Finally saved up enough to get that lovely little feature and I'm not exactly sure why my gifs won't move. Bit embarrassed to ask, but eh, "paid" for it and probably should figure out what I'm doing wrong. Do the gifs have to be a certain size? I've uploaded an assortment to test it out and so far none have worked. :/

If the avatar size goes over 100px x 100px, it loses it's animation. Just find one that is animated and meets the 100 x 100 size.

The gifs have to be 100 x 100 I believe.
