Question about house plots and amiibo villagers

I have my campsite unlocked and had my first camper which means I think my Amiibo access will come soon enough, which brings me to this question..

I hear that it takes about 3 days or tries to get an amiibo villager to come to town but is there a specific point where you put the plot down for the villager to arrive or do you put the house plot down the first time you invite an amiibo villager? I don't want to put a house plot down straight away hoping for my Amiibo villager and then getting a random instead.

Amiibo access has been unlocked for me yesterday and it is my second day trying to bring my Amiibo camper, so help regarding the house plots would be much appreciated!

I used Maple's amiibo to get her in my campsite and it took 3 days - I had to speak to her everyday and craft an item for her and on the third day I spoke to her a couple of times before getting the option of asking her to move in.

You do need a plot of land for them to accept the offer so as long as that's in place there should be no issues.

But the concern is, if you put the plot down on day1, yet it takes them 3 days(?) before they are willing to move in, aren't you just going to get a random showing up in the plot you put down before the amiibo campsite villager asks to move in? Should we wait until day 3 before putting the house plot down? Or is it possible they would ask to move in before the 3rd day and we're actually hindering them moving in by not having the plot down right away?

You can put the plots down anytime, but I'd recommend putting your plot down on the third day of having the villager visit, just before you actually ask them to move in (and ideally, you should have invited someone else onto your island from the Nook Miles thing for the other plots to avoid getting them to move in in the wrong place.)

Thank you! Ill have to put her plot down tommorow before I talk to her then I was worried about it being taken by someone I wasn't looking for so the third day for the plot is the best option

Thank you very much I've crafted items for her for two days (counting today) now so I'm on my way to finally getting her
