Question About Market Box

So, someone on my friend list was selling a tuna for 50,000 Bells via Market Box. Since I had a boatload of Bells anyway, I decided to buy it as a joke. But, as I sat and looked at this fish, I thought one thing: how?
I haven't played Pocket Camp since the beginning, I believe I joined sometime in September(?) when the Splatoon events were going on. As of now, of course, the game caps a maximum amount of Bells you can sell an item for. Was it always like that? Did this person somehow hack?

Can confirm that tunas used to sell for 50.000 Bells maximum. I theorize that your friend had it in their market box since then so the price never changed.

Okay, thanks! I'm glad they changed it, though. 50,000 bells for a fish is kinda ridiculous

Agreed. It was pretty useful for a TBT to Bell exchange though.
