okay so i know that villagers can share houses together, but can special amiibo cards say CJ and flick share a house together if i use the amiibo reader?

Hmm I don't think that will work. If you try to pair them up with other villagers or NPCs, it won't work. It will just stick to the default NPC that they pair up for example whenever you scan Timmy his partner is always going to be Tommy, same thing with Copper and his partner will be Booker. You can only pair up random villagers but not much with the special NPC villagers.

Most NPCs are on their own though and if they are you can't change that
A few do come with room mates like CJ and Flick are though. As I said, those aren't optional though.

Yeah, there’s a handful of NPCs who will room together automatically, but you can’t unpair them - Flick and CJ, Timmy and Tommy, Cyrus and Reese, I haven’t tried the Able Sisters yet this game so I’m not sure if Label rooms with Sable and Mabel but in HHD it was the trio. Etc. You can’t pair, say, Jack and Jingle, but some are a set.
does anyone know if you need both amiibo cards or does one show up as long as you have at least cj or flick?
