Question about the DS and the cold

So it's snowing where I live and this is the first time I've lived in the snow before. When I go to school, I like to take my ds in my backpack and play New Leaf when I have some down time between classes. But now after reading about corruption issues with others' copies of New Leaf, I was wondering if the cold would affect my ds and game somehow. Is it still safe to carry my ds in my backpack?

I haven't had any problem in doing it, and its freezing and snowing in here. I take my DS everywhere and I haven't got any problems

How cold is it, and how long will you be out? The Nintendo site warns about extreme cold, both for the DS and the games. But if you are just waiting for the bus, going from the car into school, and short trips like that I don't think it will be an issue. The backpack should provide enough insulation to keep it warm. You might not want to sit out in freezing weather and try to play though!

I'd only be out for about 5 minutes as I walk from class to the commons area or about 15 when I'm waiting for the bus. Haha, no way would I be playing it outside! I like playing it in the toasty commons area. :3

Yeah. I live near Minneapolis and the traffic was crazy! I got on the bus on time but I ended up 20 minutes late to my class.

I definitely wouldn't be out in the cold too long. I once left my DS out in the car in the cold for around an hour. Came back and it was cold as ice. It started up fine but I wouldn't suggest doing that a lot.

From how long you'll be out, I doubt it'll be an issue. Just don't get it wet! Maybe you could shove it in a warm and thick sock?

When my friend's 3ds gets cold the screen goes really dark and you can't really see anything. But that's probably because we were playing it in the freezing cold snow for like 20 minutes. Yours should probably be fine c:
