Question about the Museum

I confess myself a bit confused about why the museum is full of "Draw my OC!" threads and buying art instead of concentrated on what it says the section is for: "Display your creations! Come here to show your fan-art, signatures, avatars, poems, songs, or anything else made by you."

This seems to be constantly broken by "draw my stuff" threads, some even making multiples of those threads, and I don't see it listed anywhere in the rules or announcements for that section as being acceptable. I don't understand why they aren't being relocated to the buy/sell area of the forum or somewhere else that isn't meant for the artists, themselves, to display their work. I'd like to look around more at the threads of actual artists there, but there's such a sea of these unrelated topics to root through.

My apologies if this was explained somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Not specifically for art, but since people here use in-game bells/TBT/villagers when it comes to purchasing art, wouldn't it fit in with the rest of the Buy/Sell? The currency is the same, after all.

I figured it was obvious, given what the section says it's for. It's a bit misleading, to say the least.

I did see the gallery list sticky post, but I assumed it wasn't truly that short for such a gigantic section. Perhaps I was wrong.

This is a great question. The TBT market place is for selling for TBT but the museum is for art.

Well, if there was a separate section, I think it would be like the Re-Tail board; all the threads being overshadowed by giveaways and such.

Well, the museum is basically where all the art goes, so maybe that's why? I'm not too sure, but it doesn't seem like a huge problem.

they should create a sticky thread like in villager trading plaza - "the looking for/buying thread"

Makes sense, to some degree. Having it as a sub-section of the Museum would at least make it easy to find actual artist's threads, though. (Whether they're "currently active" or not.)

Also, I think that people prefer to post in the Museum instead of the Marketplace is because the Museum is much, much slower than the Market. It gives them a chance to have their threads be viewed.

Perhaps, but they seem to bump the heck out of them regardless of how slow the post rate is in the Museum, so I doubt visibility is that much of an issue. That said, though, I think it would still be great for a sub-thread/sub-section of the Museum stickied in for it.

Is there any chance of there being a sub-forum in the Museum created for "Draw my OC/Mayor" and "Paying you to draw art for me!" threads? They are overrunning the museum and making it difficult to find artist's threads, plus they're ridiculously bumped sometimes every hour.

Is there a place I could petition for this sub-forum idea? Because this really isn't what the site says the museum is for. And the sticky of galleries is only updated when someone actually asks for their thread to be included in it, which makes finding a lot of actual galleries where artists display their art very difficult. Plus, they're constantly getting buried beneath the massively bumped "Draw my OC/Mayor!" topics.
