Does the width of the forum look too skinny on your monitor? It's a fixed width and meant to look acceptable to people using 1024x768, so I was wondering if it looks too skinny, with too much empty space (the sky part) on the sides, for people with much larger resolutions.

Or maybe it looks skinny to you, but you like how it looks skinny anyway?

Well I have a 1400x900(ish) Res screen. and I do admit, the sides do look a bit bland. Maybe you could offer a Res difference? So the forum's ''size'' changes if you have 1400 or something. Or put more decor into the back xD

Could you take a screenshot because I want to see what it looks like. Mine is 1280.

I don't want to make different skins that are different sizes though. And the width could change, which is called fluid/liquid. But then it looks really bad for most people, since there's not much to the edges. Or if you make it liquid with a fixed edge, then it won't work for people with smaller resolutions. Besides, a liquid width would mess up the banner, lol.

edit: 6% of the people who have visited TBT have a resolution of 1920. It would be interesting to see what that looks like...

Well, according to Steam there's only about 5% of their community using XGA still, so I don't think most people will mind if you make the forum a little wider.

1024x768 is used by 10% here. (4th most used)

I might increase it, but it's going to take a lot of annoying changes because of the banner.

That makes sense, not a lot of people want to play games on xga monitors, but reading a forum doesn't require things to look as pretty.

Why is the banner going to cause so much trouble?

Because it's designed with a width of 976 pixels and there are multiple versions of it for the different times of day.

i'm on my mobile so it looks normal. I will be on my PC soon, so I will post then. have no idea on the pixels though.

on my PC now - looks fine.

The sides look a little bland, but as Josh said, It doesn't really matter.
