Question about villager move-outs, adoptions and Island tours after villagers move

Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm just wondering how potential villager move-outs work.
Today my 10th villager is moving in, so I expect someone to want to move soon enough.
So when that happens my question is:

1. Can I get someone to adopt them when they're in boxes as before (what do I need to exchange with the player - my Switch code? I saw people referencing their Dodo codes so I'm confused)?

2. When can I adopt another villager - is it the day after they move or when they're already in boxes?

3. Will I need to buy a plot of land from Nook again or will the new villager just take over the existing plot?
4. How soon can I go Island hopping again (can I do it when said villager is in boxes or only the next day after they're gone officially - I want to avoid random move-ins).

These are all the questions for now but I'm sure I'll think of more down the line... lol

1. Yes, once they're packed, invite someone over. You can do it local, through Dodo Code, or by adding them. Whatever you want.
2. You pick them up when they're in boxes. They won't respond about moving on the day they've been okayed to move. They have to be packed first.
3. Once you bought enough to put you up to ten, you don't need to buy more.
4. Do it the day after they've packed up and moved out in order to actually see people there.
