Question baout the 8th plot

So my campsite villager moved in today (he's in boxes) and I invited my 7th villager to move in from a tour yesterday. She still hasn't moved in yet. If I put the 8th plot down, am I able to go tours or someone's island to convince villagers to move in or will it not work because a villager is currently moving in right now?

In boxes should be okay since they won’t move in on the same day, though I have no idea if they will spawn on tours or not. I don’t see why they wouldn’t if you place an open plot though

Ditto! I'm really curious as if I can invite someone from an island tour without having a plot built and if they will move in once I actually build it, been wondering this for days and can't find a clear answer

well, i can at least help you with that. if you don't have a plot when you start an island tour you won't even see anyone to recruit in the first place. if a plot is built (and available) they will ask if they can move in if spoken to

I was in this situation today and yes it worked. There was a villager on the mystery island.
