Question on villager personalities

So I'm having a hard time understanding personalities in this game. In past games the villagers felt unique, where in this game there two categories of each personality.

Is there a way to tell which side of the personality a villager would fall on?

Here's an example. Willow and Tasha are both snooty villagers, but they both feel very different.

Willow is rather rude, thinks your outfit looks cheap, thinks way too high of herself, and likes her purse collection in alphabetical order.

Tasha is definitely friendlier and appreciates what you give her.

I wouldn't mind having a jock, but Goose only talks about his muscles and after a few months, it got old. I'd imagine the otherside of jock would be different, but I have no clue how to tell which side of the personality another jock would be on.

Oh, they also have hobbies, and interests. For example some have a fashion hobby, which they basically comment on your outfit alot, and others are more friendly. I'm guessing Willow has a fashion hobby, and Tasha does not

You can look up the hobbys, and interests to get a better idea of how the individual villagers act. It's what separates villagers, and makes them feel more interesting

The fashion hobby can also be for peppy, and smug as well.

Some have a play hobby, mainly jocks and Lazy, where they run around all the time, those villagers with a musical Hobby sing alot, and you'll find them doing it often

So the list of hobbys are:

Fitness: offten talking about their muscles, always pushing you to work out. Goose probably has this one

Fashion: Walk around with a purse, hat, and sometimes glasses, judgy, but only because of your outfit.

Play: Run around, pretty much all but Smug, have a play hobby and it's by far my favorite. Theres a few jocks that have the play hobby

Education: Exactly as it sound. Have a magnifying glass, usually glasses, and identify everything. Curious ones

Nature: Easily distracted by bugs, love to look at bugs with a magnifying glass. So kinda like education

Musical: you will literally find your villager singing anywhere, and its usually what they are doing. Will join in with other animals or dance with those singing. Every personality has a sing hobby

I might be missing one, but I reccomend looking them up to see where your villagers fall

Interests affect how they treat you I believe, while Hobby is how they behave

go to animal crossing fandom for info about the different personality types, such as peppy, jock, sisterly, snooty, smug, normal, etc. One thing you should know is that you will always have a sisterly villager as one of your starters in new horizons
