If a villager moves out, will his house remain empty for a few days to give us days to look for other villagers?
 
It could, or it could not. Someone could move in the very next day if you're unlucky. But it could also take a week or so.

I think if you time travel, even if you're time traveling a single day makes someone move in that very next day. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I had a plot empty for 3+ days while TTing, I decided to move in an amiibo after awhile. This was my 9th plot after someone had moved out.
