Questions about dream towns & "customization"

Hi, I've been wondering a few things about dream towns even though I don't "play" in that part of the game, aka I'm not really interested to go into dream towns and barely update my own nor share it.
(I tried to look up some of my questions but I found nothing so I thought I'd ask here^^)

I've never tried it myself but I've seen a few videos on some towns though, including Aika Village and Hitokui Village, some others too I believe but I mostly remember these two. I know some people hack their town but I'm thinking it's not fully related to what I've been wondering.

First of all, I've discovered a few weeks ago that the weather you have when you update your dream address/town will be the same when people will visit it? I'm not sure of this information but I guess it makes sense.

One of the questions I've wondered most is, for example, I've seen in the 2 towns I mentioned earlier (Aika & Hitokui) that you can see people (I'm talking about mayors & other characters, not animal villagers) walking around and talk to them, and they have specific dialogues. How does one do this? With hacks? Because besides being able to update your address and visit some, I believe you can't do anything to custom it.
About hacking, I know you can change some stuff's places in your town or give yourself things and such (I played with it a bit on Citra, not on my actual town/3DS though), but I don't think I've ever seen a "dream address custom"-thing tab.

This might sound dumb but it feels like such a mindblow to me, so much that, at some point I felt like there were two options of dream towns, the "story telling" ones with specific things you can't normally do, and the usual ones (like my random little town), and that they had both different customization options (in game); and that I'd never been aware of all of this haha.

I don't know if this is making much sense, I hope it does but again I am really confused about it all myself ^^ and even though I thought I had so many questions, I feel like I forgot them all by the time I wrote this, so maybe I'll come back to this eventually to add some more :')

Indeed, when you update your town in the Dream Suite it will appear, for those visiting it, in the exact same state as it was at the moment of the update, including time and weather

About the "dialogue" you saw from the characters in the dream town it's simply the phrase you can wrote on you resident card If you don't write anything the text shown to dreamers would be "Thank you".

Aardbei seemed to answer your questions pretty well already, just thought if you want to hear it again/in other words here is what I would say:

1. the weather and time of day you save your dream address is the same for people who visit your dream address.
2. you do not have to hack your game to make people see your character(s) in your dream address. this is done automatically. you can update your "dialogue" by going to your player card and clicking on the speech bubble.
3. not sure what you mean by a "dream address custom" tab, more info pls c:

Thanks! I had no idea it had something to do with the message on residence card nor that characters would automatically walk around but now I do

And for the story telling part, yes I totally knew that people would make their town the way they wanted the story to be, but I explained it very badly I guess haha.
By "an option for story telling" I meant like, if there ever was a "hidden" option you could choose (when updating your town with Luna or something) to make the characters say something, or walk around. (but as I know now, it's thanks to the RC/done automatically)
Said option that you wouldn't have had if you chose a "normal" dream address where it's just for visiting a town with no actual story. And therefore sometimes I would really start thinking there was this "whole option thing I had never heard of" even though I know lots about the game; just because I was really curious/unaware of how the whole thing worked and could never find my answers on internet^^
I'm not sure if it's very clear, again, but it doesn't matter much now, I definitely know no such thing exists

and by "dream address custom" tab, again, I thought as if, on the websites to layout your town as you please (with hacks) there ever was an option that I had never seen, that would allow you to make characters have specific dialogues and such. But again, now I know how it works and I know there is no such thing related to this haha.

Thank you so much for this! I specifically saved my dream last night at dusk, and then later wondered if if it would even show as dusk for other people. I seem to visit a lot of dreams that are at night time. I am glad to know we have some control over this!

I have an additional question. I have seen people who scatter things around their DA plaza such as gems, fossils, bags of flower seeds, etc. I tried doing this because I thought it looked neat. But—if I place items where Luna’s “dream bed” is supposed to go at the foot of the plaza tree, or where Luna or Lloid stands, will that affect anything? Is it okay to spread items freely all over the plaza?

My last question concerns Halloween candy. I really wanted to sprinkle my “dream” Plaza liberally with Halloween candy. But when I saw that the candy draws ants, I did not put any Halloween candy in my plaza. Does Halloween candy show ants to visitors in dreams? Or will it just be the candy with no ants?

If you put items on the plaza where the bed and Lloid and Luna stand, they just won't appear ^^
Though, I'm not sure if an item under Luna will disapear or if she will stand on it

Reguarding candies I'm not sure if they will draw ants or not... I cannot help you on that

Thank you! I have one additional question regarding dream addresses. I have patterns in my town which I got from another TBT forum member (with their permission). I want to have Wendell wandering around my town just to have him there. If I do that, I want to make sure that I am not sharing patterns that don’t belong to me. I don’t think Wendell would offer to share those patterns, but I wanted to check. I just think it is fun to have Wendell in a dream town.

Reguarding candies I'm not sure if they will draw ants or not... I cannot help you on that

I think I found a partial answer on this! During the Halloween event between 6 PM and midnight, when I put candies in the plaza, they do not draw ants.
