I know that some similar threads have been going around but I haven't been able to find concrete answers to everything but I apologize in advance if there are any repeats.

My campsite is currently being built and my understanding is that a Smug villager will camp out there the day after and I'll have to invite him in order to progress in the game. No biggie since I want to experience more villagers this time around before I actually get to my 'dreamies'.

My next question is - when will I be able to start going on Island tours to recruit new villagers? I've stocked up on quite a few Nook Miles tickets so I'm worried to go on a tour and find no villager.
Will the campsite villager have to move in first and does that mean that I'll have to go through the notion of setting up a plot for him and crafting things for it the same way I did for the first 3 villager move-ins?

Second question:
Can I set up 2 plots at once or does it work in sequence meaning - the campsite villager needs to move in first and then I can only purchase a plot for an additional villager. So far while my campsite is being built I have no option of buying plots from Nook (I spoke to him several times as I wasn't sure).
Also, do I need a plot set up for Island Tour villagers to spawn?

Third question:
I've been also toying with the idea of going through some amiibo card villagers for the fun of it (not necessarily my dreamies yet - just some villagers I've acquired through amiibos that I never got a chance to experience in NL).
I know that I will need to invite them 3 times before they agree to move in but my question is - do I need a plot prepared for them before I can invite them or only after they agree to move the 3rd time around?

Fourth question:
If I don't go on Island tours will a random just move into my town like in New Leaf or does it require me to built a plot first?
Will I get more random campers after my Smug that I'll be forced to move in again?

Sorry if it's a lot of questions. I'm progressing naturally in the game but I don't want to mess up in any way especially since I'd hate to waste my hard-earned Nook Miles Tickets. lol...

I can only answer for your first question based on heresy from other members here, but apparently once your first campsite villager moves in you get the option from Nook again to buy and plant more villager plots, and it's at that point that villagers will visit the Nook Miles Islands again. You should be aware that apparently even as soon as the next day if you haven't invited someone, a random villager may buy the plot.

I hope you get the answers you're looking for! :)

You can invite 2 villagers from islands when Nook gives you the task of putting down the 3 plots and you have to make the items for the homes.

One of the three is random but the other two are both villagers I invited. I just did them separately.

Built plot 2, invited Annalise.

When she moved in, built plot 3, invited Aurora.

I'm not sure if you can invite all 3, but I'm fairly certain the first one is random.

You can invite all three - Got Beau, Rosie and Skye that way.

So basically I can't buy several plots at once? It needs to be done one after the other.
Does the first villager need to move in completely before I can acquire the additional plot or can I do so just after they agree to move in?

Ahhh. That's good to know. I got lucky with my 'random' one - I got Filbert and he's super cute and sweet. I was building a fenced in areas for hybrids and he came in and watered every single flower in there. Melted my heart haha.

I don't know the answers to that. I haven't gotten past the first three plots Nook has you make yet.

I'm past this stage. Right now I'm getting my campsite built so my questions have to do with what happens after the first campsite villager moves in.

My next question is - when will I be able to start going on Island tours to recruit new villagers? I've stocked up on quite a few Nook Miles tickets so I'm worried to go on a tour and find no villager. You will be able to do this once you have created all the plots for future move-ins. At that time, if you're missing any villagers, you are guaranteed to always encounter a villager on the islands.

Will the campsite villager have to move in first and does that mean that I'll have to go through the notion of setting up a plot for him and crafting things for it the same way I did for the first 3 villager move-ins? The first campsite villager is forced, cannot be changed, and once you accept your fate and take them, you will be tasked with finding a plot of land for them. After you do this, Mr. Nook will task you with setting up all the remaining plots in advance preceeding the KK. Concert.

Second question:

So far while my campsite is being built I have no option of buying plots from Nook (I spoke to him several times as I wasn't sure). Yes, you can set up all the plots one right after the other until you have no more land to sell. Wait until your campsite is complete and you can resume selling land.

Also, do I need a plot set up for Island Tour villagers to spawn? Yes. If you have no plots of land prior to visiting the island you won't encounter villagers.

Third question:
I've been also toying with the idea of going through some amiibo card villagers for the fun of it (not necessarily my dreamies yet - just some villagers I've acquired through amiibos that I never got a chance to experience in NL).

Fourth question:
If I don't go on Island tours will a random just move into my town like in New Leaf or does it require me to built a plot first? Yes, even without visiting the island you will receivie randos moving in at seemingly random intervals, but more frequent move-ins will occur depending on your island's level of development.
Will I get more random campers after my Smug that I'll be forced to move in again? There is only one forced camper, and it's the first one for story progression.

Sorry if it's a lot of questions. I'm progressing naturally in the game but I don't want to mess up in any way especially since I'd hate to waste my hard-earned Nook Miles Tickets. lol...

I'm trying to like your post but for some reason it's coming up as a dislike. Not sure the hell is happening.

For the Amiibo question, if you plan on inviting a villager through Amiibo, you do not need to have a plot open for them. Instead, you will choose one villager that they will replace. The replaced villager will be in boxes the same day.

However, a bit off-topic, but if you let someone else adopt the replaced villager, it may cause a glitch. So if you force someone out by Amiibo, please don't sell/give them away to other people.

villagers can move in randomly whether or not you acquire them from the island. They can also be moved in through a campsite

Don't worry about the dislike. There's no option to dislike posts on this site, so basically what you did was indeed "like" the post. But it just looks like a dislike because you can remove your like if you want. Hope that helps it's kinda hard to explain.

I was concerned I had given you a dislike.

I definitely won't be trading with anyone until the glitch has been fixed by Nintendo.

Can you not invite amiibo villagers before you have 10 villagers on your island though?
I thought you could.
