I've seen people offering villagers for trade in signatures and threads all over the place. And I was wondering if someone could explain how one would go about trading villagers?

My second question is, what is the difference between a Bamboo shoot and bamboo grass?

Bamboo grass is a special event item that can only be obtained if you have the Japanese version of the game, or if you have a Friend that has the Japanese version and can get it for you. It's from Tanabata.

A bamboo shoot is basically a bamboo seed that you can plant in your town and it grows bamboo. A lot of shoots will sprout up or appear as dig spots, so you can dig them up to plant in different places around your town. I think you can get those when you upgrade to T&T Emporium, or a villager can randomly give one to you.

As for trading villagers, there are two threads you can go to that'll probably show up at on the front page: the Villager Exchange Thread and the Villager Giveaway Thread. I think both of them have a guide to help you learn how to trade villagers.^-^

Oh here's a link to a really good guide by ForgottenT: http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?76658-TUTORIAL-How-to-get-your-dream-villagers-faster

So is the bamboo grass a house decoration then?

Yes, Bamboo grass is the item for your home, and the Bamboo shoot are the trees.

The way you trade a villager is that, when a villager have packed up (that?s the date they tell you that they?re gonna leave).
you invite the other person to your town, and then they talk to the villager, and if there?s enough space in the other persons village, the villager will move in there the next day. :)
it require a lot of luck and planning though, because you need to have a free spot the day the villager is moving from the other town, unless you TT that is, I don?t time travel, so I use the reset trick. link in my signature (shameless plug), if you do Time Travel there's a method called the 2 day TT (or something like that) where you TT 2 days into the future, talk to all your villagers, to see if anyone of them are gonna leave, if a villager you want to leave tells you that they?re gonna leave, then you just TT 2 days back again and they should be gone, if a villager you don?t want to leave tell them not to, and then TT 2 days back, ask the villagers again, then TT 2 days into the future, keep doing it until you get rid of the villagers you want. (at least that?s what I heard, I haven?t tried the 2 day TT thingy, since I?m not a TT, so you should probably ask someone about that first before you do it).
I hope that helps ^^

That actually makes a lot a since, as I myself am A Time Traveler, and I do a lot of traveling ahead and backwards back to the current date. And I've actually seen critters leave when I travel backwards after telling me they were moving. Also, just to clarify, if you trade villagers you have someone come over when they're backing up? Not when they tell you they're leaving? Because I have critters tell me like days in advance.

When villagers move they tell you a date, that?s the date the other person have to come and talk to the villager :)

the 2 day time traveling method could work but it's really risky too. My suggestion is you play day by day and talk to all of your villagers except the one you don't want in your town anymore

and yes you're supposed to go to the persons town once the villager has already packed up and convince them to live in your town.
