Questions regarding bells

What are bells for? and how do you earn them? Are they the same as the bells ingame?
its been confusing me coz my friend introduced me to this forum
and he said he sent me some bells but i've been confused about that.

You will see the word 'bells' under your avatar on the forums. These are commonly referred to as TBT "The Bell Tree Bells". They are a currency used on these forums so that you can buy things from the forum shop, which can be found in the shop tab.

You can earn bells by posting responses to threads on the forums. The longer the post the more bells awarded, though do note some sections of the forums give more bells than others.

Players often want these bells for things in the shop among other things, so you might see people trading in game items for TBT or even villagers. So save as many as you can *without spamming threads* and use them as you see fit.

This forum currency, commonly known as TBT/ BTB (the Bell Tree Bells),
can come in very handy in a lot of areas.

Or : simply click on the "Bells" section under another member's avatar/username on the sidebar.
A pop-up menu would allow you to enter the amount directly to that member.

This forum bells are not Animal Crossing ingame bells,
but they can be 'converted' via trades with other members at a certain rate.
