So I scanned an amiibo in for the first time today, and I am aware that you need to scan them in for 3 days in order to get them to agree to move in with you.

I want to put a plot down today and island hop a little bit to try to get one of the new villagers. I'm aware that if I put a plot down there's a small chance a random villager can move in overnight if I do not take an island villager back home with me.

That being said, if there's a random villager/island villager moving in on the day that my amiibo villager is convinced to move in, will that ruin things? I only have 6 villagers right now, so I'll have enough room for both of them. I just want to make sure I don't ruin Chief moving to my island.

As long as I have one plot down, will he agree to move to my island even if there's somebody unpacking that day?

I think if you convince them to move in they'd just end up in the queue. Like at the beginning how three villagers moved in. They'd buy a plot or either wait for you to build one. Also I've read that the 10th move-in won't be random, so you have to invite the last person in.

If the town is full, you should be able to evict someone for an amiibo.
