I've heard you have to buy 5k worth of stuff and they need to visit 3 times. Is this accurate?

Yes. You also need to unlock the Resident Services building and Nook’s Cranny before Mable begins to visit I’m assuming based on my experiences with the game.

Talk to Mable and purchase goods from her on three separate occasions. She'll ask you to pick a spot on her third visit. At least, this is what I've heard on many occasions.

Mabel definitely visited my island to sell clothes and I don't have the Resident Services Building yet. It's still just a tent.

It's been two days since Nook's Cranny opened up and I met her, but she still hasn't showed up. I was really hoping that she would today... I need more clothes. D:

Does anyone know if you can buy from her in other towns to count toward the 3 visits? I've definitely bought 5k worth of stuff from her, and my boyfriend had her in town last night so I went and bought from her there. Would that count as 2? Or am I still at 1 since she's only been in my town once.

1. Visit Able 3 times (3 days)
2. Spend 5k at her Kiosk in total
3. You need a Town Hall.

You can give it a try. You need the Town Hall built first, so by the time this happens, you'll likely have already visited her 3 times.

We mean for the Able Sisters building, not just Sable's kioks.

Looks like RNG is screwing me over. I can't see me having had her visit three times when I still haven't gotten her today, which I think is day 5 for me technically.

Could be you're progression is slow, or you started playing later than others.

You're suppose to get her on weekends after building Nook's Cranny. If you didn't build Nook's Cranny as-soon-as you could, you may have missed out over this weekend.

Since I started on Thursday, I had Nook's Cranny open on Saturday, and Sable visited on Sunday, and again on Monday. I got lucky having her visit on Monday, but she should be here again for sure Saturday and Sunday.

When Nook's Cranny first opens, that's when you first meet Sable and she mentions that she will start visiting to sell clothing.

If I started later than others, people got the game a lot earlier than the release date! I started playing the game around 3am on Friday morning. So technically, by the game's standards I had the introductory day, the first day, and the second day all in my first day of playing, since I got a lot achieved before the game hit 5am.

I just looked it up and Nook's Cranny opened up on Sunday. That was the earliest I could get it to open. I did everything as fast as I could. =/

I don't know the requirements, but here is what I did. (I started 11pm Thursday night)

Thursday:
Paid off my getaway package
Plotted the museum

Friday
Museum tent open
Donated as much as possible to Blathers. Museum will now be constructed.
Paid off my house upgrade.
Donated 30 of each wood and iron to Timmy
Plotted Nooks Cranny.

Saturday:
Paid off my house upgrade.
Nook's Cranny Open.
Museum is under construction.
Nook asks me to plot for 3 homes

Sunday:
Paid off my house upgrade.
Museum Opens
Nook teaches us customization

Monday
Paid off my house upgrade.
Nothing Happens

Tuesday (Today)
Nook says Town Hall will begin construction tomorrow

I keep a bullet journal and track things like the above.

My guess is that the requirements are:
You need to have the museum tent.
You need to have a house.

Since I had both Friday, Nook's Cranny was possible on Saturday.

That's just weird, our timelines are off, but I'm also off from people that started on Friday after 5am. Like, I donated enough creatures to get Blathers to call on Friday AND got his tent on Friday AND got him to start construction on the museum for the next day. But I didn't get asked to plot for Nook's Cranny until Saturday.

I started before 5AM Friday March 20, and my 'timeline' is the same as the quoted post. So yeah, there is an extra day of 'story progression' for us.

Did you guys pay off your getaway package on Thursday?

Do you ask Nook every day for advice? Maybe that's what triggered it, though I don't believe so.

Interesting. Given the game changes at 5am, I don't understand why it would make a huge difference for someone having started earlier on Thursday than us. Yet somehow we're stuck in between those who started on Thursday and those who started after 5am on Friday. It's very bizarre.

The day starts at 5am, so if you start before 5am, you technically have an extra day. And since RS is open 24/7 with the ability to sell to Timmy, you get all the benefits of that extra day.

One thing I just thought of is that unlocking Nook's Cranny may also be tied to how much money you spent/earned though Timmy's shop.

Since I started at 11pm Thursday, I spent at least 4 hours doing nothing but fishing and selling fish after paying off my tent. Which would explain why I got tasked with building Nook's Cranny Friday.

For building Nook's Cranny, I am also certain the requirements are X Bells Sold/Spent, plus first debt payment (5,000 Miles) paid off. I started Friday 12AM, and was playing until 4AM. Ended that 4 hour session with 40k Bells and my 5,000 Miles paid off.
