I've seen multiple lots on ebay for an Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer 'card collector's book'.
It says it was from NA but I'm not sure where in the world these would have been sold, whether regularly or for a promotion.
If anyone has any ideas or answers as to where this thing came from, I'd gladly appreciate it, as the price for these things is just a tad outrageous.

I've heard the NA books have been given out for free from Nintendo stores or Gamestop

Jesirawr is correct, they were given out at Nintendo World AC Amiibo card trading events and at GameStop stores hosting a Yoshi's Wooly World play event. The stores didn't actually receive them, but they were given out by present Nintendo reps and they only had a few per store. As in like 5-10 binders available per Nintendo representative. It's different than the UK retail binder, and most people are saying they think it's not as good quality (mainly due to the smaller format and lack of neat silhouette sleeves. You can be the judge, there's some higher quality pictures available in this post at Nintendo Informer. Personally, I just preordered the UK one and I'll be happy with that.

Yeah those were promotional ones. To be fair they will be over priced because anything with "animal crossing" on it right now makes people think they can over charge for it >< if you really want one I suggest waiting and seeing if they ever release them for sale, or if you're lucky one will come up on ebay for a more reasonable price :/

The reason I like the NA one is that it looks smaller and that you can add pages to it! Though I doubt I'll get one any time soon. Right now my cards live in a large baseball card case.
