Hi everyone. I'm getting back into trading on Nookazon, and I'm curious about the buying power of NMTs right now. I used to trade 2 or 3 NMT per regular item (like something you can find at Nook's Cranny) but I'm getting unusual counter offers in the range of 10-15 NMTs for things like baby bears. Is this normal?

I used to guesstimate that a regular item went for about 3 NMTs, expensive items like pianos and chess sets for 10-20, and photos for about 100, but I'm curious what everyone else's experience is right now.

bruh i stopped using nookazon, literally everything is so overpriced and there were too many scammers

a baby bear is like 1000 bells? idk
and 1 nmt sells for 12000 bells so like, 1nmt is more than enough

apparently my sister traded someone 200nmt for photos of purrl and margie to give to me, which was a crazy amount
while i'm happy she got them from me, i still think nookazon prices are mad and most of the stuff isn't worth what people ask for tbh

so yeah if u just remember that 1nmt is 12000 bells, u can match the amount nmts to the price of the item and it'll be a fair trade imo
honestly though, i just give most of my stuff away for free because i don't like asking for things too often

prices on nookazon are very inflated compared to on here I'd say. usually if I'm trading on here I'd do one or two items for 1NMT I guess? depending on the item obviously, more expensive items would maybe be a couple of NMT each while cheap stuff like baby bears would be one, but yeah I've always found extortionate prices on nookazon stuff for the most part

Hm. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've never encountered a scammer on Nookazon in my 200 or so trades. I might go farther and say that almost every trade I've ever had was overwhelmingly pleasant.

I haven't really gotten a clear read on the bell to NMT ratio. The problem with bells is that a lot of traders don't want those because they're already so rich from the Turnip market - so even if something only costs 500 bells at the store, they'd want tens of thousands or more to make the trade worth it to them. NMT's are more stable just because someone had to grind out that those 2000 miles at some point.

sorry if i seem really angry, i just hate nookazon so much 😅
i got scammed like 9 times on nookazon lol

but anyway, i don't like trading loads of nmt for 1 regular item because i find it difficult getting enough nook miles then it's annoying to print of a load of tickets
then all the other person has done is walked into a shop and bought 1 item

it just seems really unfair, that's why i prefer to trade on here

A good technique I found was to sell popular items from your Nookstop terminal. Streetlamps seem ESPECIALLY popular since you can only get one color on your own island and the rest have to come from trading. I buy 5 white streetlamps for 5000 miles (2.5 tickets) and am able to turn around that stack for about 10 tickets (20,000 miles). That's a 4x return and reduces the need to grind out miles.

i still go on nookazon and have never encountered any scammers in my 520+ trades so far, but i will say that it is very inflated over there

i dont mind overpaying for things i really want, but ive been denied on simple items and diys before when overpaying by a ton, im talking like 70 nmt for a single diy rejected

thats why i love it here tbh, ive gotten lovely people just giving me things that ive been looking desperately for and denied on nookazon again and again

Nookazon is extremely overpriced. A few days ago I had a user that let me CATALOG 4 orderable socks in exchange for a regular DIY and 30,000 bells and even at that offer she said, "Fine. I'll accept it..." On the flip side, you can make a lot of bells/NMTs since it really is a seller's market. I saw several of the regular DIYs I gave away for free on here were worth 50~100 NMTs. I tend to do trades (items for items of equal value) rather than deal with bells or NMTs because the prices are so ridiculous.
