I want to try reading more books but I don't know where to start. Harry Potter and Hunger Games are all good, but I want to try looking for some lesser known ones.

I'm looking for something with adventure. Preferable a fantasy/paranormal or something with those elements. I don't mind dark stuff, but nothing too grim. I don't mind romance as long as it doesn't distract from the adventure too much or get overly melodramatic. Having LGBT+ themes isn't necessary, but would be a nice bonus! Or just likable and diverse characters in general!

i recommend IT by stephen king..its kind of a horror book and it does center on paranormal stuff..pretty big book but was a good read and very well written

The Owl and the Pussycat is a good one, but it's not exactly a book. It's a poem, part of a collection of short, nonsense stories he came up with. Really sweet, though.

More Than This by Patrick Ness; It's my favourite book and he's an amazing writer.

Was gonna suggest stuff but I hardly read fantasy lmaooo.

Think you'd might like 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami though. Has some paranormal elements to it and is actually a trilogy of books even if some published it as one thick book (we got it divided into 3 here).

I recommend "The Night Watch" by Sergei Lukyanenko. It has fantasy in it and supernatural creatures, and if you like it there's 4 more following that one.

Hmm I really love Another (not the manga version BTW!)
The cover art is really pretty too....

"The novel set in a school plagued by a mysterious curse. When Koichi Sakakibara transfers to his new school, he befriends Mei Misaki, a strange girl with an eyepatch that the other students and faculty members seem to ignore. With both his classmates and their relatives dying unexpectedly, Koichi quickly realises there is something sinister going on which may be related to the death of a student over 20 years previously. With Mei's help, he tries to uncover the mystery before they, too, become victims of the curse."

Tbh I think it's paranormal? I don't think it's really what you're looking for, but it's a good read anyway...//shrug
There's no fantasy in it unfortunately....sorry ;-;

I've been reading The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and I. Am. LOVING IT.

It's got paranormal and fantasy and it's just so amazing good so far.

I already had the ending spoiled for me, but that's not ruining my fun!

Let it be known that I'm not usually the biggest fan of King's works. I acknowledge that he's one of the most prolific authors of my lifetime, but his style just usually isn't for me. That changed when I started and finished The Gunslinger in like a day and a half, and now I'm halfway through The Drawing of the Three (book two of the series).

The Lies of Locke Lamora is a really good book with interesting characters and a lot of action. The series is really good but the first book is arguably the best idk I'm reading the 3rd now they're all good

Unwind Dystology by Neal Shusterman
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya

Gone series by Michael Grant is pretty good. A town where anyone over 15 disappears and the rest of the kids have to figure out how to survive, some of them also start to develop some kind of powers. It's pretty good.

If you are at all into fantasy, The Hobbit is a great entry read that introduces a lot of great themes. It's not really about sex or sexual orientation at all... I don't even see why a book about sexual orientation would be appealing, but you do you.

oooh, id definitely say thats paranormal! its very creepy too ^^

I'd recommend the When Women Were Warriors and the Elemental Logic series. They're both fantasy, have prominent lgbtq+ characters, and have a pretty diverse set of characters overall (especially the Elemental Logic series)! I can't comment on the entirety of the When Women Were Warriors series, though, since I'm only in the middle of reading the first book, but it's worth mentioning that it's available for free in ebook form if you're interested. I've been reading it on my phone and I'm really enjoying it so far. :)

I highly recommend Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Awesome fantasy young adult book series-quite heavy on swearing and sexual references though so be warned
