Recycle Bins Improvement ideas

I would love it if when we trash certain items that can be trashed. There should be a way to retrieve what you accidentally trashed. So when interacting with a trash can or recycle bin etc. It gives you the option to look inside and to take whatever it is that you had chucked back again. And for every new day start, the recycle bins and trash cans etc are emptied for the new day.

The recycle bin and trash can etc capacities could be about 20 to 30 slots.

Also when you're looking into the recycle bins and garbage cans and trash cans etc. You might find an item that you never threw out, that was put in by a villager.

And there could even be a Nook Miles achievement for the amount of times you look into the bins and finding items that you never had put in, in there.

This is definitely a great idea! I want them to realistically follow how we deal with trash in real life. Accidents do happen. And sometimes throwing something away can become useful later on. For example, I usually pick off fallen tree branches daily and then trash them. (My storage is full. So I can't keep anymore materials.) One of the villagers gave me a recipe that requires tree branches. I can go back to the trash bin and pick them off! It will save me a lot of time shaking trees.

Honestly, if it weren't for the limited space, I will certainly keep them all. Sadly, Nintendo doesn't have any plans of upgrading storage soon. We are getting a lot of new items. It makes sense that they should increase the storage capacity as well.

There's also another idea I need to add. The bins doesn't really need to be emptied automatically for each start of a new day. We could request Tom Nook to schedule for the following day, for the placed bins to be emptied if there's nothing we want. Or even a particular day of the week when they get emptied.

If I recall correctly, didn't the recycle bin in Wild World only get emptied once or twice a week? Plus you could take goodies out of that.

I wish they'd let us put things in the recycle bin like DIYs and plants.

You can store things you want to sell or give away later. It's especially helpful for items that can't be put in storage. My recycle bin is full of diys and hybrids, but I had to use the cleaning service for them to bet put there. It would be nice if you could just put things in the recycling bin directly like villagers do.

I think OP is talking about Trash Cans, and not the recycling bin.

The recycling bin in New Horizons is never emptied. When it gets full the oldest item is replaced permanently. Unfortunately, unlike past games, nothing can be placed in it while interacting

It's always got saplings or'something else I don't want.

So I take from one bin, and dispose of it in another. O_O

I think it’d be really cool is we could use the recycle bin to regain resources from items. For example, you’d put a garden bench in there and the following day it’s been recycled back into it’s 14 wood and 4 iron.
I always end up crafting furniture that I think I need but then don’t and just end up selling it and wasting my resources.

What if you could find pieces of the sloppy set in the trash cans? I just want more trashy furniture so bad haha
