Reneigh - male smug villager, not uchi female??

Reneigh the new horse villager showed up as the first in my campsite (so coded to be a smug), and whilst I'm all for gender norm-defying villagers, I swear they were meant to be a female uchi??

Is the smug thing confirmed? I went to the island twice on before plotting homes, and got a female pig, and a female sheep.

@JKDOS - I'm not sure but I think so, my friend got Julian as his first character in the campsite. The first 3 house plot villagers have to be normal, lazy and peppy from what I've seen, and the first two villagers will always be uchi and jock.

My first campsite villager was Claude who is lazy. Campsite villagers aren't locked in as smug only.

Ahhh I think I've been thrown off with the whole 'villagers can only be x personality' thing in the beginning. I also have Renee the uchi rhino (2 Renees lol) and I've been getting different dialogue from her which made me think maybe Reneigh was not uchi! Hard to tell at this point as their name tags aren't blue or pink anymore to show male/female.
