As a kid, I used to be extremely addicted to the game. I played it every day, and I believe I got to the point where my character had more friends than I did in real life. Now recently, I have suffered from cravings for the game, and I find myself drawn back to it. Any tips to avoid this addiction?

play a different game, and realize animal crossing is basically an mmorpg without the online/massively multiplayer aspect

the game is just that, a game, you will never get anything out of it more than a game

you can enjoy it, but it's only a hobby, not your main/intended focus in life. that should be your real life.

i dunno. if you're young/still in school, just do your schoolwork and be active in stuff with that. if you're older, you should have no problem finding something to fill up your free time.

Have somebody lock the game up and make sure they won't give it to you.

Ha I dont own it anymore and I am currently 23. I find that when my friends are busy I crave for this game. Id rather not get stuck back into an MMORPG, as I can assume atleast half of every nerd has gotten addicted to WoW at some point in there life. I do understand the "never get anything out of it" aspect, hence why I am mostly a casual gamer, but likewise, it is still an addicting game

If you're in highschool or college, go for honors classes; mostly AP.

You'll get overloaded with homework, and you'll realize you can only play a game for a few hours.

I have a lot of AP classes, but I'm not able to play in my precious town :\

EDIT:
Whoops, I didn't read your latest post, so you're probably not in school anymore. :p

If you love it like I do, play it. I stopped playing it for several months and hated to see it just sitting there, but it was running my life. Although, as soon as my friend invited me to play online I dropped everything and seized to opportunity to play again. Play it if You enjoy it, but not too much so it runs your life. It's a good game, don't refuse to let yourself play unless you really have a problem.

Just ask your parents to let you play with it for about an hour or 2 and then have them take it away.
