This is an extra of my rant. And again, it is meant to let off some steam.
I personally feel that retro gamers can also be very self-entitled and feel that all video games need to be catered to them. This is very apparent with Projared's review of NES Remix and WiiFolderJosh and Gamexplain's review of NES Remix 2.
They are complaining about the standard challenges being tutorial like and feeling like "filler content" and that the game would be way better if they were only remix stages
The standard challenges were not just made with people who already played these games in mind. Standard challenge levels are supposed to start out
teaching the fundamentals of the games and showcase highlights of the games too.
NES Remix is a game was geared towards those who are skeptical of playing the games featured in it.
You want people to spend more money just to gain the skills to play a $15 game? What if they just want to try out the games and don't really want to play them all the way fully? This game is the safest way of do so, and that's one of reasons the game was made.
Also, if you are saying that they are so simple, why are they so troublesome? If that's the case, it should take you just a few minutes to finish them, especially since the goals take aren't nothing long and drawn out.
And you know, with all that being said, I am going to buy NES Remix 2 on launch day and enjoy it fully just like I did with NES Remix.

You would be better off playing the actual games

For whoever wants to learn how to play these games should just play the actual games
