Paper Mario
Paper Mario is a RPG with a very epic storyline. The story goes, that in Star Haven, a mystical and magical place in the sky, 7 Star Spirits use a Star Rod to grant any humans wishes and make baby stars known as Star Kids. Then one day, Bowser and his assistant Kammy Koopa(as pictured below) Star Haven because Bowser never gets his wishes granted so he steals the Star Rod to finally get his wishes granted and turns the 7 Star Spirits into cards.
Meanwhile, Mario and his brother ,Luigi, are at there house when Parakarry, the mailman, comes and delivers a letter from Princess Peach saying there invited to a ball a the castle. When Mario and Luigi arrive and Mario meets Princess Peach, Bowser invades and puts Princess Peach's castle on top of his and it goes into the sky(Bowser's Castle can fly because it has propellers). Using the power of the Star Rod, Bowser makes himself stronger and beats Mario in a fight. Mario gets thrown out the window and lands unconscious in a part of the Mushroom Kingdom near Goomba Town.
After landing projections of the 7 Star Spirits and give him the energy to recover. Soon after a young Goomba living in Goomba Town named Goombaria finds Mario and gets help. A few days later Mario had a vision saying to go to Shooting Star Summit from Eldestar, the elder Star Spirit. Mario awakes then and heads to Shooting Star Summit after meeting Goombario, which he later becomes Mario's partner.
After arriving at Shooting Star Summit, the Star Spirits can communicate with him there because they are all imprisoned in cards, the Star Spirits explain what Bowser has done and that the only way to stop him is to rescue the Star Spirits and use there power together to overcome the power of the Star Rod. Then the Mario adventure unfolds.
Paper Mario uses a turn based battle sytle in which you attack and your partner then the enemy or enemies attackand then you and your partner attack again. At the end of each battle you collect Star Points, and when you collect 100 you'll gain a boost, rather it be in HP, FP, or badge Power. Along your journey you'll meet new partners who all have different attacks and terrain abilities. Only 2 people can be on the stage at a time though, you and a partner of your choice.
Paper Mario is a long, fun, and enjoyable game with great 3-D graphics that appear 2-D(hence the "Paper" part of the game title" ). Gameplay is good because it never becomes dull due to the humour in the game and the music will have you humming it for hours after you finish playing it because of the catchy tunes. Overall, it's an excellent game and in my opinion, one of the best on Virtual Console.
