I was watching another youtube person talking about movie rumors and such. At the end, in passing mentioned another Charlie and the Chocolate Factory reboot for Netflix. The following might be what they were talking about. Of course this little teaser came out in 2018.

Of course it has to link everything into the same universe because the Avengers did it.

Stop DOING THIS. Just MAKE ORIGINAL THINGS. I’m going to have a stroke

^^ this. if i see one more remake i might actually just pass away

Oh my gosh...

Everything is a REBOOT.

Everything is a SEQUEL.

Everything is a REMAKE.

Please, would these people go back to making ORIGINAL AND CREATIVE PIECES OF ART?

These movies don't need to be remade.

Gene Wilder was the original and the best.

I'd like to know who's decision it was to make Johnny Depp act like a watered down Michael Jackson in that reboot.

I like JD, I just think certain movies are masterpieces and shouldn't be remade.

It diminishes it, in a way.

They should?ve waited another 20 years or so, at least. The remake is only from the mid-2000s...

I'm tired of seeing remakes. Especally with something like this.. when it's already been remade. There's no reason to do it again and at this point most people would rather see something new.

Why don't they just make a movie of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator instead of remaking the first book over and over?

Especially since it's basically an episode of Doctor Who. I wouldn't mind seeing somebody's take on that.

People haven't got enough.
They want to see oompas loompas murder children once more.

They mentioned this on the radio a few days ago, and it just reminded me of the money making world that we live in.

well since everyone got the moaning about remakes (even though remakes have been a major industry fallback for over 40 years) out of the way, i'll put in something more productive

i like different adaptions of things. people get all uptight because they hear remake and suddenly turn geriatric because they take it to mean that their original experience to the source wasn't good enough, is outdated, has current hot button issues in the subtext they want to ignore etc. as if they have some claim to whatever it is. it's just melodrama

i actually want to see something more in line with dahl's vision. or something more modern, as the book's lessons certainly could apply in new ways. wilder and burton are great actors, but having Wonka being a spectacle is not really the heart of the story. and it could use the critical edge that roald dahl intended.

Apparently Taika Waititi will be directing from a rumour I saw this morning. If this is true I would definitely want to see his take on the story

Yup,according to the article linked above,Taiki Waititi is directing two Roald Dahl movies for Netflix. One will be Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and the other will be an original animated feature about the the Oompa-Loompas.I like seeing what other creative minds can do with existing source material even if others have already taken a crack at it and Waititi is definitely creative. Also, from what's mentioned in this article and others on the net, these new Dahl movies are all going to be animated and they're also going to be basing some of them on Roald Dahl's lesser known works.
