Trading Rudy the cat?

Hey, if anyone has Rudy in their town and doesn't care for him, would they please let me know? He told me he was moving away, and I accidentally told him "Good luck" and now I'm miserable without him... he was my bench buddy ;-;

Is there actually any proof this is true? I've heard you can get the same villager again as long as it's not the one that moved away, it has to be one from someplace else.

I can't say for sure, but I've heard people say that doesn't work D:
That as long as the game remembers you had Rudy the Cat, ie precycle, it won't let you get Rudy the Cat, no matter where it's from.
Again that part I'm not sure of, but the people who said no I would think must have tried it.

The cycle thing does work.
I saved an important villager, from a friend of mine, from moving away, and once my friend cycled 16 villagers she was able to come back for her villager.

I wish you luck on that!

What I said I don't think works was like, having Rudy moving out, then trying to convince a different Rudy to move in without doing the cycle.
At least I think that's what she was talking about.

But yeah, good luck, in the cycle and finding another Rudy.

Hang on, is he in boxes yet? As you can convince him to stay as the "goodbye" speech comes up in dialogue sometimes when you talk to leaving villagers.

He's long gone :/ but thank you for that info, I'll definitely remember I'll have one more chance to get a villager to stay if I ever make that silly mistake again ^_^
