So I realized that, much like in Japan, the blossom petal spawn in New Horizons is actually pretty short-lived. That’s fine, I’ve got about 80 of them still. My only gripe is that I have, like... three of the blossom-themed DIY recipes that use them and I think there are like 12-13 of them total? That’s kind of disheartening but I want to ask folks who might have more knowledge and experience than me on the subject whether sakura blossom-themed recipes also stop spawning pretty soon or if they continue to appear in the usual ways of balloons, bottles and Villagers telling us about them even after the petals themselves stop spawning? That would make it somewhat okay, at least.

Please let me know if anyone knows!

I'm pretty sure the sakura themed DIY recipes still have normal spawn rates unlike the Bunny Day recipes which have been reduced. My town has sakura petals flying around like crazy, but I think it's all just a matter of chance here. I only have like 5 recipes but I think they're just rare.

It’s cool if they’re rare, I just don’t want for the DIY recipes to stop spawning along with the petals, leaving me with a crap-ton of useless petals and only, like... 4-5 recipes to use them on (Assuming I find additional ones in the days to come...)

But we have no reason to think that the petal-themed recipes‘ spawn is timed, right...?

Coloured balloons spawn either on a time ending on 5 or 0 (XX:X5, XX:X0), though times ending on a 0 aren't guaranteed. Green balloons are more likely to yield DIY recipes, and most of the time it'll be a cherry blossom recipe. Do note other colour balloons can yield cherry blossom DIYs as well, just not as often.

I scan my beach at times ending in 5 or 0 to see if a balloon has spawned, and I shoot it down. I've gathered 8 DIYs and one duplicate already.
