I'm aiming for a foresty kind of town, and inevitably used lots of paths/stepping stones with grass and flowers. But now I'm starting to have second thoughts because these paths are going to be annoying when grass turns yellow or when it snows..(there are no fall/winter versions of the paths I'm using) However I do love them too much to change it now, so I'm having major dilemma as to what to do with them..

What are your thoughts on seasonal paths?? Do you use them in your town or no? Also, if you do, I'd be interested to know how you deal with them when the grass changes color.. Do you revamp your paths completely every season?

Seasonal paths are nice, since your path can match the grass in all situations. I WOULD use seasonal paths if I wasn't so lazy...I don't have the patience to re-do my paths every season, lol. That's why I just chose a neutral brick path design that's applicable to all seasons and grass colors. :P

If you have the time and patience, you could always save the designs of the paths you have now before you replace them with different ones as the seasons change. Then you'd still have your old path design to switch back to later.

I used to have 1 season path design. I wanted to replicate the lost key from City Folk. So I drew a key on my [Grass Design]. All I had to do is change the colors of grass as the season changed. Believe me if you look at the link for my grass design. I have most of grass colors (that's do-able with the current AC design colors).

*I took the season path away cuz it's annoying and it took up space in my design inventory.

Nah I'd be too lazy. I'm just gonna cry when it's winter and then when the grass is green again I can stop.

I don't really revamp my main paths because I think they're pretty versatile and suit all the seasons fairly well, however I do revamp my smaller/dirt paths and grass patterns every season!!

Oh yeah I also made snow to cover up my main path during the winter. I made sakura blossoms scattered on my main path for the spring. I have 3 different main paths cuz I design my own paths. That's around 30 different patterns. xD Oh and I have around 100+ cloth designs. I keep everything on my TBT Able Sister's forum and on my Tumblr page.

I love the idea of seasonal paths but I'm far too lazy to ever do that.

Just a question for the sake of laziness: if I make a path that has any grassy bits on it, then change the grassy bits to match the areas around the paths, it would automatically update them, right?

I know.. I love the design of the grass paths but I know it that I'm just gonna be too lazy to change them later..>< hence the dilemma

Your grass paths are AMAZING!!! I think I will use them when we are in winter & fall

LOL I would foresee myself tirelessly trying to fix the paths WHILE crying, and stop when my paths become perfect again

It's actually not too hard to deal with seasonal paths, in my opinion. All you need to do is keep every single pattern stored with Mabel, and then switch them out as the season changes. As long as you match them up with the patterns in your inventory, everything just changes over automatically.

I don't use seasonal paths, though. I have a one-tile cobblestone path that I use for some side areas that have four variations depending on the season since it has some grass on it, but my main paths don't have any variations. It means that I have ivy and flowers on my paths in the winter, but I don't care.

Excuse me for being a dream town stalker but I LOVE your choice of the paths!! So pretty ><

Ahh if only I could be so talented to edit my own paths..

yes, but I believe you can only edit patterns that you made by yourself (not from others) if I'm not mistaken.

So the problem remains for me because I only use patterns that are designed by others

**** I just realized this ****, **** autumn and winter

the grass looks fake anyways I can deal w it

I don't have any winter/fall paths candidates though >< so now the hunt begins

I love the simplicity of using single tiles, but then sometimes I'm bothered by the fact there's no borders... I know, I'm so conflicted

Ah, thanks! Maybe you could try to copy the pattern with some patience, as long as you don't share the edited versions and use them only for your own personal use, it seems like it would be fine (but I'd check the creator's guidelines just in case or ask them). Or maybe you can search for some seasonal path to use, if you've bookmarked or saved the QR code in some way, you can just replace the new seasonal one in that pattern slot and I think it'll automatically update all the tiles using that pattern if that makes sense.

Ah, fair enough. Yeah, once you find some winter/fall paths, I think it's pretty easy to change them at any rate, haha. Finding them might be difficult. This set of stepping stones is the one that I use. I use them sparingly, so I'm not sure how they'd look all over the place. I also had a hard time finding seasonal one-tile paths as well.

Part of the reason I was so picky while choosing paths for my town was due to the seasonal changes in the game. I didn't want to rework paths for when the grass changes color or snow so I stuck with a brick path instead.

Plus the seasonal paths I did love used up so much pattern space that I didn't want to create another character to store them on, lol.

I used to have this problem until I decided that I wanted natural paths in my town.
Until then I just used a brick pattern that looked nice for all deason

I think seasonal paths would be pretty cool. I kinda have them.

My normal path are dark gray stones, but I found one with breaks in the stones and flowers growing in those breaks, and that is perfect for spring and summer when the grass is green. I also found one similar for snow for winter.

It's really easy to save the designs at Ables Sisters and then copy them into your invo and replace the one currently on the ground. Then everything is automatically replaced. It would be more difficult though if your path is made up of more than one pattern.

I don't switch up my paths often because it takes so much time and energy, but more power to those who work so tirelessly for their towns T___T
