So I've got a lot of things I want in Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch. So many, that I've made giant list below! I'll keep updating it when I remember more things I want. Please keep in mind I've only played New Leaf so far, so I might not have the context for everything. It may seem like I want a lot, but I don't expect everything on this list to happen. If anything, I hope we'll get stuff that nobody knew they wanted! That being said, I present:
Sebas' Big-ass Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch Wishlist!
Anyways, that's my big-ass Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch wishlist! Have you got any suggestions? Tell me! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
Sebas' Big-ass Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch Wishlist!
- Character customization
This is an obvious one. It's been in both spinoffs (yes, I'm counting two. I'm trying to forget that one) and I'd love to see the feature seep into the main game! It wouldn't make sense as a random menu, so maybe have Harriet expand her business for that? - The return of height differences in terrain
I thought this would clash with the rolling log effect, but after a bit of research I found that City Folk (I still want to play that one some time) has both! I understand why it wouldn't work as well on a handheld, but I'd be glad if it returned, it would make for more interesting layouts for sure! - Better camera controls
Now this is one of the more farfetched wishes, but I'd love to be able to rotate the camera anywhere! In New Leaf, you can only rotate in your house and in the museum as far as I'm aware. Being able to do it outside and in other places as well would be amazing, but I don't think it would be worth it to change all the models for that, as most objects don't have a backside. It would also clash with the rolling log effect, so I'm not expecting this any time soon. - Automatic fruit stacking
This has no excuse not to exist. When you pick up fruit, it should check if you have another piece of that fruit, and stack with it. If I have a full inventory, but in that inventory is a stack of 8 apples, and I'm picking up a single apple, the game shouldn't tell me my inventory is full! - More stackable items
This one kind of speaks for itself: I want to be able to stack multiple items of the same type: like fossils, flowers and stuff. - Improved PWP (and similar) placement system
I absolutely love being able to decorate your own town with little buildings and structures and I am happy with the fact that you can choose where your house is.
That being said, I think how you do that in New Leaf is a bit sloppy. In New Leaf, you have Isabelle or Tom Nook follow you around while you walk to your destination. Then, if the spot you're at is free, you can talk to them and voil?, you got it. If there's something close, however, you have to repeat the same dialog at different spots over and over again until you get one that fits, if it even exists:
"Yes, Mayor! Is this about where you'd like to place the park clock?"
[menu where you click yes]
"Well, let's see... It's just so close to something else that I think it would be very tough to place it right here. We're planning to put in a new park clock this time... From where you're standing now, Mayor, we need an empty section of land that's 1 left and right! And then another 2 spaces back! Basically, you need a lot of space! However, if it's going to be next to something else, I think it'd be best to have extra space on all sides."
And that happens over and over again! Like geez dude, I just want to place a single park clock! Here's my solution for this problem:
I propose a mode that you can access from the town hall, a GUI kinda like HHD, where you can move stuff about. if something doesn't work, the item you're moving just becomes red and you can try a different spot immediately. - Functional chat
In New Leaf, you can type some messages with the touchscreen, sure, but you're limited to 32 characters. 32. CHARACTERS. And that's only dots, because if you want to type characters with actual width, you're going to get a lot less! I want to be able to type full sentences. I also want no miscommunication because someone walked into a building at the wrong time and missed a message, just have a chatlog like with the best friends, but everywhere! - Automatic saving
This is another one of those things that imo have no excuse not to exist. Saving takes a long time in New Leaf, and I think that's because it's running on a handheld, but on the Switch, it needs to be there. I don't want to worry about losing my progress when I go online with an unstable connection, I just want to have fun! While I personally wouldn't need it, some people might still want to reset, so I think being able to toggle between autosave and manual save should be an unlockable option, maybe with the reset center. - Automatic Blathers-assessing
When you go into the museum, you can choose to donate stuff, or asses fossils. I just want to donate the fossils asap most of the time! Why doesn't Blathers just let me give them to him, so he can take the ones he need and give the rest back to me for easy money? It's a win win! Again, no reason not to exist yet! - Seperate space for tools, away from the main inventory
I mean, this one kind of speaks for itself. Sometimes you see a bug you really want, or see a rock that's not supposed to be there, and you can't get it because you decided to actually have some space in your inventory for once! That also leads me to: - Bigger/Upgradable inventory
We all know it all too well: you're just minding your own business, picking up flowers, digging up fossils, collecting fruit, when all of a sudden... your inventory is full! Oh... how much bells I wouldn't spend on making my pockets bigger. And that's exactly what I should be able to do! I don't know if it should be done by an existing character, or an entirely new shop, though. It doesn't matter as long as I can carry as many golden stags as possible! - NES games
I forgot about the entire reason I wanted to make this list! If this returns in the new Animal Crossing (unlikely, with the whole NES online thing, but still) I'll practically squeal with delight the first time I see it. There's like a 99% chance it won't happen though, so I'm not holding my breath.
Anyways, that's my big-ass Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch wishlist! Have you got any suggestions? Tell me! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
