Second island help

So if I buy a second switch, add my main profile and a secondary account to it and have that account launch the game, will they get their own island being a secondary account?

I want to do this so I can play it with my girlfriend.

I know you can't have multiples islands on one switch, so that's why I'll buy a second one.

But I want my main account on that switch too as the primary one.

Hopefully that makes sence

Basically will the second account be able to have the islands to themselves if they launch the game first?

yes! thats how i did it too
you can also have multiple islands on one account (if you have the switches for it) but then it doesnt really record the play time right (in your profile) so thats not so great if you care about that.

edit: but! if you want to play online you need nintendo online for the second account too

So if I make my profile the main on that switch as well as my current. But just have the second account(which will be hers) have her launch the game first. She will get their own island.

Don't want to go buy it and it not work.
I just want to be primary account on both switches.

yes! the account that starts the game owns the island
