I hope everyone had a good spooky season!! Now get ready for jolly season LOL (sign-ups are below the rules)
It's that time of year again!! Can you believe I've been doing this for 7 years??? I look forward to my art exchange every year, and I'm glad there's always so many people participating <3
I'll give a full rundown since I've seen some new faces, just to make sure everyone understands how this works!
What is this? What's a "Secret Santa Art Exchange"?
In this exchange, everyone who wants to join will fill out the form below with info and references of the character(s) you'd like drawn! And when the sign-up period ends, I will randomly pick names and pair each person up with someone. They won't be drawing for you, and they won't know that you're drawing for them. It's a surprise! You will draw their character(s) and send me (Balverine) the art, then when the art period has ended, I will make a fancy post here with all of the art for everyone to see! After the art has been received, you can choose to either announce yourself, or remain anonymous.
How are the names picked?
I use a random name pickers, so everything is fair! On the form you will see sections that ask if you can draw feminine/masculine/anthro/etc, and I will TRY to honor that when picking, so if you can only draw feminine characters and the picker pairs you with someone who only has masculine characters, I will spin again.
How can I provide references?
There will be a section on the form for you to add these. You can upload images of your characters to a place like imgur (please don't use discord unless you have to, the image links will expire!!) or if you have a toyhou.se page, google docs, anything that shows what your characters look like, and maybe some info about their personality!!
What can I draw? What if my art isn't "good enough"?
All that I ask is that you put effort into your gift! Please do your best, and provide something more than a quick five minute doodle. This isn't about experience, skill, etc, it's supposed to be fun and give everyone a chance to get art of their characters <3
Generally people who participate draw at least a bust of the character, so it's up to you if you want to draw more than that! Digital mediums are preferred, so if you do traditional art, I ask that you have a way of providing a clear shot/scan of your art!
You may do any style (chibi, cartoon, realism, pixel, etc, go nuts!)

RULES
-As mentioned above, please put effot into your art!
-If you fail to turn in your gift, you will not receive one, for this is the law of equivalent exchange.
-Please let me know if you need an extension to get your art done!
-If you have to drop out for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible so I can find a replacement for your giftee.
-Please do not share your art before I have revealed them.
-Luckily this hasn't happened in the past couple of years, but if you failed to turn in your art AND failed to inform me that you were dropping out, you will be blacklisted for the next exchange.
Timeframe (subject to change)
November 1st-15th: Sign-ups! (may end sooner if entries wane)
November 15th-17th: Matches are assigned!
November 17th-December 21st: Art time!
Art will be revealed on the 25th of December!

(I understand if spots get all filled before then though). This will be my first time too; I’ve been interested in it before but hesitated because I’m not an artist and don’t want to disappoint anyone.
