I KNOW IT'S A GRANBULL STOP PMING ME ABOUT IT!!!
I missed this post being topical by just a few days, but oh well!!
For those who don't know, there were horror stories back when Animal Crossing New Leaf launched about a glitch that could occur on Bunny Day. Apparently, if you did not destroy the temporary breakable rocks that spawned in the town, there was a chance that they would become "real" permanent, unbreakable rocks the next day.
I was recently interested in those stories and seeing what actually happens when this glitch occurs, so I messed about with time travelling around Easter on a launch version of the game. (not updated, because I saw a message somewhere on here that Welcome Amiibo patched this out)
However, I did not get this glitch to trigger after a few hours of trying different methods (changing system time, in-game time, TTing backwards, etc).
This is when I realized I am on the internet, and sometimes people go on the internet and tell lies.
The earliest report of this glitch I could find was a link to a now-deleted reddit post which apparently warned users to break all of the fake rocks on Easter, due to an "uncommon glitch" which would make them real.
This is all to ask: Does anybody have footage or personal anecdotal evidence of this glitch really existing?
It's always interested me, and I'm wondering if I just got unlucky when trying to trigger the glitch, or if this is whole thing is a legend.
I did notice that once the rocks vanish the day after Bunny Day, they do NOT reappear if you time travel back to the same Bunny Day. So it seems there's at least some weirdness with how the rocks spawn.
But yeah, any info would be appreciated. I would love to satisfy my curiosity and finally figure out how this glitch works, or if it is even a thing at all.
Thanks!
