Hey there !

Has anyone heard or know anything for September, and when i mean update i mean something substancial like a real big update. I have been super 🐝 with work so im not sure if there have been announcements or not

We don't know anything yet. The best we can hope for is Nintendo does their September Direct, and includes Animal Crossing news.

The most recent update, 1.11.0, came out just over a month ago, and it was announced with a blog post unveiling items for August and September alongside a message saying that more free content would be available later in the year. However, there’s also some stuff they didn’t announce for October and November, but we don’t specifically know if it’s a contingency plan (for if the more substantial stuff isn’t finished yet, because as opposed to that, the seasonal stuff HAS to come out at a specific time of the year) or not.

However, in the past few years Nintendo Directs generally fall around the same times (February/April, E3 and September), so it’s very likely we’ll hear more (whether that’s an official unveiling of the October-November stuff, or an actual trailer for the next update) then.

The general public only knows that the seasonal items included in the current 1.11 update will be until September 21 only. So many people would assume that an update will drop around that time.

But, people aware of the datamine knows that the Halloween event is already included and the seasonal items included actually extend until November 20.

So, around mid-September, two possible scenarios might happen:
(a) No actual in-game update. Nintendo will just announce that the Halloween update and the other seasonal items are readily available in the game.
(b) New game update that gives us new stuff.

We'll get another update at some point this month that should at least soft-patch in the Halloween event for this year. Whether or not more will be included in that is yet to be seen.

I think it's pretty likely we'll get some insight on the next update as well as their "later in the year" plans regarding updates for the game sometime during the September Direct that's pretty much all but announced at this point. There are only 3 months left in the year, I think whatever major update we get if anything at all will likely come by very early December at the latest.

I’m not sure they will add it this month. They could wait until the end of Oct. to add the actual event. I know the items are there. Is it possible the event itself is also there just time locked?

I remember though the tweet they made which I believe said we will hear more details at some point so maybe like when they announced mario items a few months in advance. I don't think we will wait all the way until few days before release.

An update for September at this point is unlikely, unless its for like bugs or something. If we were getting one we would have seen it by now. But we'll probably see an update in late September for upcoming events in October.

Since they included Halloween stuff in the last update my guess is that the next update is turkey day 2.0. Wahoo.

I need to just say this because I feel like everytime there is a new update people are always quick to be hopeful and speculate way too much. Do not set your expectations up so high, remember when people were hyping up E3 2021 how there would a big update announced with New Horizons and that never happened? I am just saying do not believe the rumors that Nintendo Direct could happen or if it does happen don't expect New Horizons to be there like last time. Remember back before the game came out they did an Animal Crossing Direct that showed all of the games new features and what it had to offer? That would make more logical sense if Nintendo were to announce a huge update to the game it would be down in a Direct instead of a simple trailer.

Also the datamines that saw that Brewster and the Cafe could come to the game, really take that with a grain of salt, because everytime when there is an update people set their expectations up so high and that these things that were found in the datamine may not come true. We are 8 months into 2021 and this game hasn't gotten a huge update that has a lot of content and I know people are really desperate for more and I can't blame them, but all this speculation is getting too repetitive.

Regarding the new Halloween items were added (but not announced) in the last update - does there need to be some kind of update (even if it's just maintenance) at the end of September to turn them on/activate them? Or is all that stuff available now if you just time travel?

Since Halloween was snuck in with the Firework Shows, it could be possible they also sneak Turkey Day in with their next update rather than make an entire update nothing more than Turkey Day.

All the new and old Halloween items are available by time travelling to October. However, I believe that the Halloween event is currently in the game but "turned off". Like with most holidays, it won't activate until the actual day, in this case October 31st.

That being said, I don't expect an update until right before Turkey Day. Maybe they'll talk about it in a direct earlier, but I doubt it unfortunately.

I don't see anything happening for a September update as I am sure we would've had an announcement by this point. The only thing I can see them doing is giving a jpeg screenshot announcement telling us it is now time to start collecting acorns. Or maybe just repost the 'update' they gave us last September that wasn't really an update, but they beefed it up as such.

Seeing the video games news outlets suggesting the next Nintendo Direct will happen within the next two weeks.

This is consistent with the last 5 years:

Wednesday, September 1, 2016
Wednesday, September 13, 2017
Thursday, September 13, 2018
Wednesday, September 4, 2019
Thursday, September 3, 2020 (Mario 35th)

I do wonder if Nintendo will feel compelled to mention AC since there was a lot of chatter and even a few articles about its absence during E3. I'm not expecting anything, but I don't think it's completely out of the question.

I demand AC news! With lots of new additions. I have been absent quite a while and am redoing my island now. So for me this would be a good timing. Please Nintendo don't disappoint me.
